Haha, I unofficially made it onto Rutgers thru the walk on tryouts. (Enrollment bs meant couldn’t join, yk how there are a billion rules for eligibility but ofc they wouldn’t bend anything for a walk on lol). I’ve decided to go play D3 ball instead so this makes me feel better about that haha.

Yo I emailed my schools recruiter (D1 College) asking ab the tryout date for the upcoming fall. I get a response back saying that there is no tryout for it as of now... ik there’s a pandemic goin on and everything so that might delay some things but is it normal for football programs to not hold tryouts?
@certifiedprettyboy29044 жыл бұрын
Same bro, I was walking on to a D1 and the coach last week told me tryouts could be delayed maybe even to the next season
@clayraterman4 жыл бұрын
Definitely possible, I've heard of it before. Usually depends on if the team needs any players or not - you could always ask for information on alternative ways to walk on

What do you think is the best way to get in contact with the coaches? Ive tried twitter and email and I still dont get a response. Would it be bad to contact them daily until they finally respond?
@clayraterman4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I've said many times in my videos that pestering the actual coaches is likely going to get you nowhere and that most of the time they just won't respond (speaking about high level D1 schools at least). I advise reaching out to other people like people on the administrative side, titles like walk on coordinators, director of player personnel, recruiting staff, etc. And again when reaching out you're simply asking in a polite and respectful way for information on when a walkon tryout is and if they have one this year. Usually sending film and trying to convince them over email to let you on the team is a waste of time and just looks silly unless they deliberately ask for it.

clay raterman yeah true, things is there is no walk on tryout for my school even though its D1. Its fcs tho. Also im going as a punter but I got some connections that can directly contact my special teams coordinator through phone number so i’ll give that a go. I appreciate the help man!
