PLEEEASE... here is WHY there is ONLY 1 King of RnR... the Beatles had 52 Top 40 songs...52, and that is an incredible amount of hits, think about it... BUT, now understand this, that number isn't even HALF of ELVIS' 114 TOP 40 HITS, w 40 of those in TOP 10!! ELVIS IS KING of not just R-n-R, but King of Music...PERIOD!

Elvis once said there was " room at the top for everyone". While that comment he made may have been true. The fact remains he stood alone on that peak. No other artist in the history of the music Industry was able to even come close to this man in talent, charisma, killer looks, humility, and generosity of spirit. When this man died the entire world wept, and the world still isn't over him. Elvis Aaron Presly was truly LOVED. That love for him has never stopped.

@@dontgoout1434 Yes indeed you are correct. However, I was not critiquing the man's life,.... and the personal struggles his life and his particular circumstances brought him. Nobody is perfect, and we all have our demons to some degree or another. My statement was based purely on Elvis Presley's musical talent and his impact on the world, and it was enormous, musically, socially and culturally.

Elvis could have been a great actor if he was given more credibility. Even in these B movies, he was good!
@janice5528
@janice5528 Жыл бұрын
Some were not considered B movies at the time only later, some of them were top grossing movies at the time and some became top musicals but after a few years the critics became harsh and bashed the movies and Elvis was tired of doing same type of things and same story lines... He wanted less musical comedies and guy gets girl story lines and not be type cast he wanted more deep or fulfilling acting rolls... He wanted more like James Dean or Montgomery Clift or Tony Curtis rolls and he could have done them so well, like he did in King Creole...But at the time you have to look at what movies were being made and budgeted for... From Here to Eternity and others were big budget movies ... Unfortunately Parker put him in a box and a routine... Then Directors and producers made offers but Parker turned down many of them thinking he'd lose his control...

I would've loved this film at his death to have included the comments made by the Commander-in-Chief, Jimmy Carter: Elvis Presley's death deprives our country of a part of itself. He was unique and irreplaceable. More than twenty years ago he burst upon the scene with an impact that was unprecedented and will probably never be equaled. His music and his personality, fusing the styles of White country and Black rhythm and blues, permanently changed the face of American popular culture. His following was immense and he was a symbol to people the world over, of the vitality, rebelliousness and good humor of his country

Elvis Presley changed everything. it wasn't just a revolution in music. Elvis changed the social and cultural norms, of society. Elvis's impact on the 20th century was a major force for so many changes. Nobody deserves the title "King of Rock and Roll" more. Elvis Aaron Presley was a man who made a difference in this world, and the world still misses him to this day. Strange in so many ways that ,.... because it's as if we lost a member of our own family,....that's how much he was loved and still is.

Elvis touched everyone who was alive, in the soul! Which is why he is the King. He was genuinely nice, caring, talented and good looking. He was the whole package. He wasn't Vegas Elvis in his final years. He toured himself to death because he loved it and had people to pay. He never wanted to do a bad concert, he didn't want to let his fans down. He has and is still selling more records after his death. The corenol worked him to death and stole a lot of money. He was treated racist by his own kind. He will remain the King and a LEGEND

Jesse Garon was born first as a stillborn, then Elvis was born. You have it in the wrong order. If you check this out, you will find it says: On January 8, 1935, Elvis Aron (later spelled Aaron) Presley was born at his parents' two-room house in East Tupelo, Mississippi, about 35 minutes after his twin brother, Jesse Garon, who was stillborn. The next day, Jesse was buried in an unmarked grave in nearby Priceville Cemetery.

There are so many things which are worth learning about Elvis. He was a phoneme Al singer! Looks to kill, heart as big as Dallas, great entertainer and really worked at his trade. Wanted to be the best for his fans. Genuine human, kind and generous. Amazing how he was raised and had so much intuition as to music and musicians. Just the greatest and an All American. I am not so sure he is passed this life. He still may be alive. For sure that was him in that interview. Even his hands looked like him when talking. No on, but no one could have interviewed exactly like Elvis would have. He was 1000 percent believable. Judging from the presidents he knew so much about and most of them met, he’s still with us. Looking at those limousine videos as Elvis got out of one. Was easily identified. Looked older but cannot mistake the profile. Awesome!

Elvis looks like he is about to shit in his pants. He was drug filled prior to this satellite special, and was told by the producer Marty Passeta to pull himself together and " you will have to lose weight ". He trimmed and 'delivered the goods' like he always does. I was most impressed by his interpretation of It's over, Something, (George Harrison's hit song) What now my love(a title of French singer Gilbert Bécaud RIP) and I'm so lonesome I could cry. These sad songs are not easy to interprete. But Elvis did them justice. Remastering titles such as Kuipo, Blue Hawaii and Hawaian Wedding song for live videos looked easy for the King. Rest assured they were not. In fact they necessitated quite a few takes. Elvis, the complete artist, impressed the whole world from satellite. Yes, I watched it live. And thoroughly enjoyed his extraordinary performance. Elvis, the true, complete professional. No one comes near. RIP ELVI 😎

Someone needs to write a fictional movie about what Elvis' life would have been like if he had an honest non-greedy manager. Travel the world for tours, more and betters movies, lived into old age. A life free of modern slavery and pressure does not necessitate a need for uppers, downers, and dangerous sleep aides.

Your speaking from Knowledge of today. Hospitals gave it to patients and they thought it was safe. Studio execs were giving the SAME PILLS to Judy Garland and Shirley Temple from 3 & 4 years old. This is before MRI'S & CAT scans. They thought Smoking was safe for pregnant women. They had NO CLUE about DNA, Elvis had 4 Traumatic Brain injuries and they knew NOTHING about the side effects on his brain and his life. It was no excuse to abuse those perscriptions but Elvis KNEW he had major health problems and he was doing the best he could to take care of his family, friends and his 99 Employees. The body includes nine major organ systems, each composed of various organs and tissues that work together as a functional unit. Of those 9 systems, 8 were failing Elvis.

Maybe you should do some homework. REAL homework before you spout that regurgitated 1980's "Just Say No" campaign slogan. If you READ ANY BOOK by ANYONE who was near Elvis and what was ACTUALLY WRONG then you wouldn't be spouting that crap. ELVIS suffered 4 traumatic brain injuries in his 42 years. The last one being in 1967. He tripped on a TV cord and hit his head on a porcelain tub and was unconcious for over 8hrs. He was found, Xrayed, was bedridden for over 2 weeks. He was shipped home to Graceland and was combed over by a team of specialist. The is PRE-MRI, X-Rayed, had a severe concussion, slight skull fracture and even seen his dead mom over a course of a few nights. Dr Nick & Memphis Baptist Memorial diagnosed him with several side effects but they were just learning about Traumatic Brain Injury. Consequently, the controversy over the cause of death-cardiac failure or drug overdose-raged until 1994, when the State of Tennessee reopened the autopsy. The State retained the famed former coroner of Miami-Dade County, Florida, Joseph Davis, MD, who had done thousands of autopsies. He rendered the opinion that Elvis Presley died of a heart attack, stemmed from an Auto-Immune Disease that was caused by a Traumatic Brain Injury which settled the public controversy. his autopsy findings, when paired with his medical history of multi-organ abnormalities over a 10-year period, clearly reveals that Elvis was suffering from an autoimmune inflammatory disorder.To help support the presence of an autoimmune disease, I found that Dr. Nick's records revealed, prior to death, that Anemia was found along with his chronic hepatitis, lung disease, glaucoma, hypertension, Fatty Liver Disease, Heart Disease, A1 deficiency, Severe vitamin D & B12 deficiency, severe migraines, chronic pain, depression and megacolon. Progress in modern pain management finally has provided us with enough scientific knowledge about traumatic brain injury (TBI), autoimmune disease, and pain to unravel his medical history. After piecing the evidence together, it is quite clear to me that Elvis' major disabling medical problems stemmed from multiple head injuries that led to an autoimmune inflammatory disorder with subsequent central pain. His terminal event was cardiac arrhythmia, underpinned by genetic defects, and hastened along by an atrocious diet and drug use. Elvis clearly had a disease process that had affected multiple organs-stomach, liver, spine, and eyes-but at the time, his physicians had no idea that he might have had a progressive autoimmune inflammatory disorder. The concept of autoimmunity was just starting to be understood. Much to his credit, Dr. Nick gave Elvis the diagnosis of post-concussion syndrome, and believed his headaches were a result of his head injury of 1967 (outlined later). Dr. Nick related that, "Elvis was never the same after he hit his head in 1967." JUST During ONE of his 2 weeks of hospitalization in 1975, he complained of 26 headaches, 14 bouts of insomnia, and "general pain, hurting all over" 4 or 5 times each nursing shift. The triad of insomnia, headaches, and pain all over is typical of TBI victims.Patients with head trauma are now frequently enrolled in pain clinics. Their pain is clearly one of a central nature that has a fibromyalgia distribution, which patients describe as pain "all over."²¹ Presley developed such pain during the last few years of his life. Patients with TBI currently treated by the author have severe constant pain, insomnia, depression, and a variety of mental impairments. All have hypothalamic-pituitary hormone abnormalities and autoimmune inflammatory signs and symptoms. In retrospective analysis of Elvis' head trauma clearly shows that Presley developed or accelerated his autoimmune inflammatory disease after his most serious head trauma in 1967. His previous bouts of head trauma probably contributed to his deterioration, as multiple head traumas are cumulative in effect. Autoimmunity following TBI has historically been believed to occur as a result of hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction. A new belief is that head trauma causes brain tissue to be jarred loose, and leak into the general circulation through the blood-brain barrier. Brain tissue is not supposed to enter the blood circulation because it is toxic or antigenic to the rest of the body. If this truly occurs, and this author believes it does, it acts like an infectious agent or vaccine in that it causes antibodies to form. These antibodies then become "auto" and start attacking normal tissue. It's even possible these abnormal antibodies attack and further damage the brain.Autoantibodies attack in a random fashion. One day they attack the joints and the next the eye, heart, or liver. Presley clearly suffered multi-organ attacks based on his clinical history, and they varied over time in typical autoimmune fashion. One of the problems with autoimmunity is that it produces inflammation and lowers one's resistance to infections. Inflammation of the arteries in the heart (coronary) and brain (cerebral) are now known to be an end result of inflammation. Presley had hypertension and arteriosclerosis independent of his autoimmune disease, but his autoimmune disorder undoubtedly accelerated the inflammatory process. It is noteworthy that Elvis could not do his usual gyrations on stage in the last couple years of his life as a result of rigidity and spasticity. At times, he even had to use a cane to walk. Pain develops in joints and muscles with TBI.²¹ It is likely that some of Presley's random-appearing drug use was an attempt totreat himself.Only recently has there been an understanding that TBI may cause bizarre behaviors such as reclusivity, obsessive-compulsive habits, paranoia, hostility, peculiar sex habits, poor hygiene, and drug use. It may also cause hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction and trigger an autoimmune inflammatory process that may produce, over time, a multi-system disorder. The centralized pain syndrome of TBI may not only produce pain in the form of headaches but also spine, joint, and muscular pain. These patients are often misdiagnosed as having "fibromyalgia." Head trauma can be cumulative, meaning that each additional trauma adds to the risk and symptomatology. Drug overdoses, of which Presley had several, usually cause anoxia to the brain and may worsen the problem of brain dysfunction caused by trauma. All of this was on top of several genetic problems including hypertension, megacolon, cytochrome defects, and antitrypsin deficiency (A1). DR Nick noted in Elvis' medical file that he was never the same afterwards. He could no longer remember his movie lines in his last 3 films or the film he was filming at the time (ClamBake), he could no longer remember his lyrics or chords, his behavior became erratic, could no longer remember names, his insomnia was out of control, erratic spending, mood changes, chronic migraines, diagnosed with severe swelling in his retinas, later would be diagnosed with Glaucoma & sever light sensitivity, chronic eye pressure problems, chronic pain. This medical analysis has been done in great part to bring attention to TBI. I believe Elvis Presley clearly knew he was deathly ill, but didn't know why. In retrospect, I believe Elvis Presley was a classic case of cumulative head trauma, followed by an autoimmune inflammatory disorder. None of this was known or recognized in his day. I'm confident he would be pleased to know his predicament may help others, as he was a kind and generous person.²³ Only recently has there been an understanding that TBI may cause bizarre behaviors such as reclusivity, obsessive-compulsive habits, paranoia, hostility, peculiar sex habits, poor hygiene, and drug use. It may also cause hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction and trigger an autoimmune inflammatory process that may produce, over time, a multi-system disorder. All of this was on top of several genetic problems including hypertension, megacolon, cytochrome defects, and antitrypsin deficiency. If you care to read all the Medical Journals write ups of Elvis' death and all the new information that science has finally help solve in his death you can google: DR Forrest Tennant World Leading Neurologists who specializes in TBI's who testified at trial for Elvis' DR also. The state of Tennessee released Elvis full Medical Records and Military records for both trials. He and Elvis' 13 treating Specialist have spent years going over Elvis medical files and Brain Tissue. So Google him & Elvis Traumatic Brain Injury. Baz knows this but he chose to save time and NOT correct history. Every time you parrot that BS it just makes another generation parrot a Geraldo talking point who was pushing a political narrative. Elvis self medicated yes. But that is NOT what killed him. He wasn't taking drugs to escape, he was taking drugs to cope with his chronic pain science knew nothing about.

His first six years as a pop singer from 1955 to 1961 were his golden years. He recorded many great hits during this period. After 1962, his film career began to falter as the number of mediocre, formulaic films increased and the songs used in the films were no longer instant hits. Popular music would never be the same after Elvis Presley. His style of singing and movement on stage inspired many young singers to move into the world of rock music. It’s a pity that after 1962, he appeared in so many undemanding and below average movies which conflicted with the new wave of realistic 60’s movies, and new rising acting stars.
