I lived with an old wah ching gangster in a sober AA house for two years. I'm 6'2 and 220 and he was 130lbs. He scared me.

Size means nothing when you know someone can kill you....
@RC-nv6rc Жыл бұрын
It's not about size it's mentality, a big guy with a nice personality is less dangerous than a little guy who is out for blood. Or another example you can go in a bank with a gun and ask for the money the people will fight back or be slow etc or you go in with a banana in your pocket shouting and screaming and threatening etc you get the money straight away

This how gang leaders should be. If you a real gangster you not telling no one except those who need to know. Look at the Mexican cartel, you never know who's in charge till they get arrested and even then they keep they mouth shut. Chinese triads are like that too but everyone else not so much
@a.s.konttinen Жыл бұрын
Them Russian/Eastern Europe -"groups" be like that, too. Althou they love lookin' flashy w/ 'em cars, etc. But the code of silence has majorly remained, among other things, such as the tatts they be having blasted on 'em... ✌️

Maybe he didn’t say anything cause if he did he getting Rico. Literally self incrimination.. I don’t think he had any real power for awhile. Maybe just using the rep and clout…

Real talk, it's the people who are quiet that you gotta be careful of, if you really badman you don't tell people what you've done or how much money you make or what clothes you wearing and car you driving, you stay ultra quiet nobody knows who you are nobody can look at you and guess what you are either

He was only known as Joe (Mut Joe) Young in SF then. You showed a pic of some OG WCs of the late 60s. The guy with the huge pompadour was WC lieutenant Raymond "Big Head" Kwan; who also was in the 1976 "Lok Yuen" (Jade Palace) shooting. Funny, he also had been shot in the head years earlier and the small caliber bullet fragment remain lodged and inoperable for life.

We had several of the WC and Joe Boys members at my SF high school in the late 70s. I was one of very few Caucasian students, and it was known to just avoid them.

I knew a couple guys who had a dilo in Southern California in the mid 90's. There used to be a pool hall called International Club in Pomona. I remember it was in the news, some asian guys dressed like businessmen shot up the place. Every Asian gang in Socal used to be at that pool hall. Go outside to smoke a " Yos", might be your last.

Pool halls were all over Queens and Chinatown in Manhattan from what I remember.

The WC has been established long time ago in San Francisco. They are probably the first Asian gang exist over in the Bayarea. Then other gangs came along. The other Chinese gang Black Dragons also has many Asian members joining.

Who knows maybe he got killed because he was still doing the old ways like taking and oppressing the community.. most guys in his generation seems to believe in taking more and greed. I think today’s community are different.. Asians understand to support and uplift. Either way I believe things happen for a reason .. no one gets there throat slit in that fashion because you where protecting a friend or for money
