It’s not unusual to say someone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the stuff of legend. They have an actual legendary God of Thunder on the roster of the main team. But there’s one character whose most notorious moments happened off screen and is only talked about in guarded whispers by the people know know what he’s capable of. That character of course is the elusive Winter Soldier himself, Bucky Barnes. Functionally speaking, Bucky Barnes belongs to the super spy contingent of the MCU, along with characters like Black Widow, Hawkeye, Agent 13, and the Agents of SHIELD. But while most of these have a gimmick that separate them, like sharp archery skills or flipping and shocking people, Bucky has two distinct edges that make him a legend. The first of course is the super advanced robot arm. You can’t go wrong with a super advanced robot arm. The other is that Bucky Barnes is one of the rare semi-stable super soldiers to exist. In fact, his instability isn’t so much the super soldier juice pumping through his veins as it is the treatment he got from the people who gave it to him. The century old soldier turned spy turned guy who would like to make amends for his life has had a long and interesting life that has taken place mostly off screen. Just what has led Steve Rogers’ best bud to pairing up with Rogers’ new friend and fighting super soldiers? Let’s review the life of Bucky Barnes.

I'm expecting it to be Sam, but I'd rather it be Bucky, because Sam already has that badass Falcon getup. Although, it would probably be difficult to justify passing the mantle to Bucky, given his past as The Winter Soldier. Yeah, it wasn't his fault, but, the government isn't likely to care.

Never forget that Bucky is who Steve effin Rogers looked up to. He’s a damn good man and he deserves the world. It annoys me that he was pardoned because a pardon indicates that he’s a criminal. He’s not. He’s a victim. He’s a prisoner of war. It’s not right that he is made to feel the need to apologize for things that he had no consent in.

TFAWS Isaiah says he took Buckey’s arm in a fight, not the train fall.

Bucky fell from the train first back in WW2. That is when he lost his real arm. Isaiah is talking about when they fought against each other later during the Korean War. Isaiah fought Bucky and broke his vibranium arm in half. Hydra obviously repaired it and put Bucky back on ice until the next mission.

Bucky was the brainwashed killer with no remorse or feelings when trying to kill Steve Cap. Now he is Bucky with powers but remorse, guilt, and does not want to kill anymore people if possible. He pulls his punches in order to subdue, not kill.

OK this is what confuses me. Steve Rogers went back in time and married his sweetheart right? OK so if he did that, then WHY didn’t he search for Bucky? I mean think about it. While Captain America enjoys the highlife in the 1940s with his British wife(forgot her name), Bucky is being tortured!!
