And all the businesses that were damaged know who to sue. Plus all the people who were "wronged" by Superman. I think on Lois and Clark they did an episode where Superman got sued for saving someone. They did this on the Incredibles, too, but it would get much worse if people knew the actual identity. Plus all the psychos that would want to take out the friend or loved one of Superman fir some cred. Even Superman can't protect every person he loves 24/7.

Since Superman doesn't wear a mask, it wouldn't occur to people that he has a "secret identity". When he's not around, they'd just assume he's somewhere else doing Superman stuff. That was John Byrne's approach and it makes the most sense.

I had my reservations for Tyler Hoechlin when the casting was first revealed. I first saw him in teen wolf as Derek Hale. I couldn't see him as the Man of steel. BOY WAS I WRONG! Hands down the best live action portrayal of superman by a mile. I love Superman and Lois so much. The writing is fantastic and normally in Superman fiction we see Superman the hero, figting existential threats or larger than life characters. He still does this in this show but we also got to see him as a dad, and tackling problems he can't solve with his super powers. The effects being Superman has on his family. It made him SO RELATABLE. I work all the time and spend a lot of time away from home as well and seeing Clark face that aspect of life really resonated with me. I have to say, this is one of the, if not THE best show on the CW. I hate that there are other shows with substantially lower qualities that get 6-10 seasons and this absolute gem in the rough gets cancelled 4 seasons in, presumably because of the direction DC is going with their movies. It's a shame. I'd have loved to see where the boys develop now that they both got their powers and how Lois and Clark cope with that. So much potential, down the drain.

I know people don't like the fact that Clark is revealing himself to the entire world but remember secrets become weights after a while, even for the Man of Steel. They also become potential leverage for someone else to use if they singularly found out. So sometimes the best thing to do is to spill the beans. It means no more weight. The figurative "loaded gun" of unwanted exposure has been emptied. Managing an exposed truth is much better than losing control of a hidden one.

I am so glad that the series finale didn’t end with the reveal and then fade to black. This has been so satisfying watching Clark process the vulnerability of being seen and truly known. Everyone attached to this show is amazing. I’m so grateful to them for the care they have put into crafting this masterpiece final season. They didn’t rob us of these moments to come.

A grown man thinking this is a good show is the same type that thinks the fast and furious franchise is Oscar worthy lol. Look at the viewership numbers. It got canned for a reason even if it wasn’t for James Gunn. Shows still an awful cringe CW show. If the show had good viewership numbers, it would still be going. The only people that kept watching are easily amused degenerates.

Fun fact: Tyler Hoechlin voices Sephiroth in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Before that, Sephiroth was mainly voiced by George Newbern. George Newbern was also the voice of Superman in the animated series. So this is twice now that an actor portraying Superman has gone on to voice Sephiroth.

It's interesting, I don't think Clark would make this decision if his sons weren't superpowered. If they were normal kids he wouldn't put them in danger, but since they're Kryptonian like him, he wants to raise them in the open. It's incredible I'm still learning new things, and new creators are making awesome new things, about Superman 86 years after the character was created.

I saw that nobody says this, but Yoshié Bancroft's portrayal of Janet Olsen is seriously underrated. The way her voice started to crack when she mentioned "But I've known you as Clark" was not being appreciated enough. She showed some real emotions here, and I think her character was really fit for this scene. It feels 'real' and 'alive'. Also, Tyler Hoechlin is my Superman! Great series...and a great scene with him finally revealing to the entire world who he is And btw, on a separate note, I don't think that Lex Luthor crushed his heart a few episodes prior. I believe that Lex pulled a 'fast one' on Jordan to make him believe that he destroyed his father's heart, but Lex still probably has the real heart hidden somewhere.
