Hashirama Senju was a member of the famed Senju clan. He himself was hailed as the "God of Shinobi" for his unmatched ninja prowess. Hashirama sought peace for the shinobi world, and to that end founded Konohagakure with his clan, his childhood friend and rival: Madara Uchiha and the Uchiha clan. He would later become the First Hokage of Konohagakure. Although he was not able to achieve peace during his lifetime, his legacy and vision for the world would continue to shape the village and the entire shinobi world even after his death.

Hashirama is one of my favorite characters in the series because it got the point where his power ballooned later in the series until it's the biggest plot whole in Naruto that Hashirama actually died. There's an unspoken request that we all just forget that Jesus Senju here was assassinated by apparently regular ninja, despite being immortal at a cellular level and strong enough to beat the shit out of Complete Susanoo Armored Kurama, before Kurama was split in half, with a big chonky tree boy. Hashirama the one incarnation of ashura where he was always stronger than the Indra incarnation. Didn’t really fit the description of ashura and his reincarnations, they had to put in never ending hard work to get to that point they weren’t naturally gifted like indras but the reincarnation bullshit came way after Hashirama was already established as a “god” of shinobi
