Thanks for spotlighting one of my favorite singers, Brad Delp. Oh it hurt when he took his life. Yes, I have heard that he was one of the nicest people in music. I'll never forget being a teenager and hearing "More Than a Feeling" come over the airwaves for the first time. I thought it was an absolutely perfect rock song, with soaring vocals, guitars, everything you could ever want. And the hits just kept coming from that amazing debut. I remember hearing that he taped the inside of the bathroom door so that no carbon monoxide would come out and harm his cats. RIP gentle soul.

It was also reported that he left notes on his front door warning anyone, especially the police, that it was dangerous to enter.

I had always been a huge fan of Brad's & it upset me to no end the day he took his own life.

He had a truly magnificent voice, absolutely stunning. Looking forward to this so much! I have couple of suggestions for you: Judith Durham, and Ignatius Jones who only passed a couple of days ago. As lead singer with Jimmy and The Boys, Iggy was a major force in Oz shock rock. His career was long and varied, with some truly remarkable achievements. With Brad’s voice, I’ve heard More Than A Feeling’s lead vocals isolated, it sends shivers down your spine. Excellent video! Fun fact: if you turn the self titled album cover upside down, the ufo-type thingies are flying guitars with blue flames🙌

I don’t where I read or heard this but here goes. In an interview Tom Scholz was talking about Brad Delp’s vocal talents with Boston.Tom said that Brad had such good control over his vocals that he (Brad) could sing a verse and half the chorus of a song in one breath! Does anybody know if Brad was formally trained to sing or was he just gifted? And when Brad was found dead after committing suicide, he had written a note in French “Je suis desole”, which I think translates to “I’m sorry”. The vocal talent of Brad Delp is sorely missed. He was outstanding. So good that we still have him on record. Thank you Brad Delp. May you Rest In Peace.

He did not have a trained voice. He taught himself to sing. His note read "J'ai une âme solitaire" which translates to " I have a lonely soul or I have a solitary soul. Very very sad.
