My mother is going through late stage pancreatic cancer. I myself have terminal health complications. I'm on the verge of losing custody of my 9 year old daughter to a wicked trickster woman. The few moments I spend most nights absorbing the wise words of John Butler before I sleep are blessed moments. I live every day feeling like I'm losing everything I truly love and feel ignorant when my physical pain and limitations hold me back from being the man my family needs me to be. I'll never have the honor to meet John Butler. But he is one of my best friends in the worst times of my life. I enjoy the space and being alone. I just can't find peace in the thought of feeling alone.

I'm gonna be honest, I only just discovered you, but things like this are an example why 'respect your elders' is not an old fashioned saying that should just be left behind. Loving you so far!
@My2Cents14 жыл бұрын
I think in modern times, it is difficult to respect our elders because the life they led during the last 50-60 years hardly earned them any wisdom at all. Instead they become obsolete and feeble, not understanding anything and where younger people actually do know better. John is different. He has wisdom, because he has truly lived life, as I imagine elders in the olden days did. John has something to offer us, more than just saying "oh in my day things were better, such and such...". That doesn't help anybody. John offers answers to life's big questions. So we respect him.

@@My2Cents1 "the _life they led during the last 50-60 years hardly earned them any wisdom at_ all" . As opposed to the spastic Twitter / TikTok / Instagram filled brains of people these last 15 years? Yeah no , they are far wiser

When John was sent to boarding school at a very young age, he spoke of putting his face in his hands and saying "God Bless Mommy and Daddy..." to protect himself from the loneliness. I think we can all relate. Well, God bless you too, John.

I wish to one day achieve that oneness that you personify John. To have an ultimate appreciation & unwavering gratitude for all things under the roof of our sky & to let grievances past, present or future wash away like water in a stream. Its mans greatest plight of the ages I believe. The internalized battle in the mind constantly assessing if we are worthy & is life worthy. As it stands I find myself to be terribly nostalgic, sentimental & melancholic to the point it disrupts my peace & days seem to roll into a continuity of one after the other, whilst I fret the future & gaze over the past too often. You're words are cherished in all these videos, bringing much comfort to the soul & reminding us all of the truth that has almost become the alternative choice opposing getting wrapped up in a fast paced fabricated reality. Thank you & godbless you. It's a gift from god every day you're here to advise us 👍

Phwoah! Super duper HD. The greens in perfect contrast to the blue. Nice. Now the aim should be audio consistency (not that the audio in this is bad, it's just a mixed bag). I think people are more intolerant to bad sound than they are to bad visuals. There's always a goal to aim for =P I believe many popular KZbinrs use RODE products.

There's an absolutely brilliant, ambitious, and as far as I know completely unique, book about spiritual Light : ' Let There Be Light. Experiencing Inner Light Across the World's Sacred Traditions '. Written by Arthur Stein and Andrew Vidich. Published 2015. I've been reading it on and off for five years and am about halfway through ! It will probably be hard to find, and consequently expensive, but gentle persistence may pay off ! Good hunting if you choose to track it down !.. x x x

To answer the woman's question about turning to the light, it is a metaphor for growing awareness. The purpose of meditation is to increase our awareness, so meditation itself is ''turning to the light''.

Hello John and Phil, my name is Juan, im 27 and from Argentina. I wanted to ask you about something that often happens to me while meditating. Sometimes, often a while sitting with my eyes closed, I see and feel like a big space or void, and somehow feel really large in size, its like perceiving with other type of perception. In those moments I interpret it as if Im on the verge of something to happen, and try to let go in order to 'awake' but obviously fail. Id love some advice from you. Im a big fan!!

How can I achieve your sense of peace? I seem to be always angry. Why does my anger always seem to control me?
@dorothysay83274 жыл бұрын
Anger is a habit. You have to interrupt the pattern and get into a different habit. Divert it...pacify yourself...turn it down. The more you do this, the easier it becomes. Then you’ll find peace.
