Widespread stablecoin use mean either that banks and asset custodians take on the responsibility of digitizing those assets, OR the customer has to spend money in order to turn their money into money. …I’m skeptical.

yep the economics dont make sense. i hope people wake up and start to question the fundamental basis for how bitcoin fits into the economics of consumption and production...

The visa signature interchange fee is 2.1% and I get back 2% in rewards. I’m not sure I would switch to a stablecoin if it was marketed as “your coffee is 2.1% cheaper”.

@@JB-yj9gb You guys are fools. The number 1 thing that really matters in a currency is stability and default risk. Bitcoin is incredibly volatile. There is no chance in hell enough merchants will adopt it to make it work so that consumers take it up.

Progressive could transform buying insurance with a virtual Flo, letting customers interact with her iconic personality. Imagine ordering a Big Mac from Ronald McDonald-fun, on-brand, and feedback-driven for constant improvement. Huge opportunity for actors/actresses trying to break out right now. Train an AI agent to mimic your character and make it available through a platform like Hugging Face. Better yet, speaking of YC being largely marketplace-driven, create a marketplace for licensing trained models based on real people.

Crypto and specifically stable coins have an incredible advantage over traditional payment rails due to their speed, transparency and security. Assuming everything is done correctly, these are essentially going to eat at C2C marketplace fees as they are providing that value for a fraction of the cost.

This AI thing is all just hype. It's uses are very narrow and worse still, it's already hitting a wall according to reports. I was around in the 90's during the internet boom. Internet killer apps were popping in from all directions back then. Right now, there is not yet an AI killer app. AI can't be compared to the internet as far as being revolutionary. I don't see AI changing the world as much as the internet did.

Yeah the internet truly was a real revolution in connecting the human species. AI clearly is not well defined at all. I'd have more confidence in AI if smaller incremental steps were taken rather than attempts of quantum leaps - it is too difficult of a challenge to take on like that.
