At the stroke of 12:30 pm on 18th June 2019 the annual Linlithgow Marches return parade kicked off in real style with The Royal Regiment of Scotland leading the parade, complete with Corporal Cruachan IV, the mascot of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, a Shetland Pony

I love this Scottish military parading! I'm an Englishman who only did 6 years in the Royal Engineers in the 1970s, but I had lots of Scottish mates in the RE's who had brothers in Scottish regiments like the Black Watch. My most memorable part of my Army service was being bagpiped out of Drumadd Barracks Armagh, by pipers from the Queens Own Highlanders, who took over from us.

My Nana was born and raised in Edinburgh. She met my grandfather who was English and were married. I am proud of my Scottish and English heritage. I love watching the different nations parade their troops. It instills pride in the soldiers and it creates a bond with the civilians. I am a Marine Vietnam veteran and am very proud of our flag and our country. President Trump tried to organize a magnificent parade in our Nations Capital and was vilified as a war monger and dictator by the weak kneed liberal socialist democrats. America is my country, so to it I give my allegiance and belief we are the best even in parades. I give credit to tradition of bands of all countries, especially England and her various factions. But since I'm of Scottish descent, I call this Royal Scottish band second to only the US military bands. Scots look great, fight great and are a proud people who bow to none willingly.
