You know, people get old and die. The original Star Trek series was 60 years ago, and most the actors in it were adults at the time. Ipso facto - Most of them would be extremely old or dead by now. Of course the list is getting "tragically longer" because of that. It's not going to get shorter.

I was 15 years old in 1966 when TOS premiered. Uhura was instantly my hero!!!! The only girl working with the boys as an equal on the bridge! Notice she never lost her cool like Chekov, or fainted needing to be rescued! Uhura was a soled reliable officer that Kirk could always count on. She was inspiring!

I had the privilege of meeting Ms Nichols several years ago, and she was absolutely amazing!

Kirstie Alley: I read in Starlog magazine in an interview that she actually DID want to reprise her role of Saavik in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, but she just signed on to portray Rebecca Howe on Cheers and she couldn’t get out of that contract

> The List Of Star Trek Deaths Keeps Getting Tragically Longer Well, yes. As something recedes into the past this inevitably must happen. How else could it be?

Star Trek is cursed. Every actor who has appeared on one of the shows is going to die.

These kinds of lists are complete bollox. There's easily over 50 notable actors who have died over the years. However I will stick to 2024. TERI GARR. PATTI YASUTAKE.

Back in the 60’s, black people on TV were rare other than servants; Nichelle Nichols was a role model for me growing up - And I’m White! Very classy, beautiful, talented actor and humanitarian. I’m convinced her role on Star Trek helped the civil rights movement. There should be statues of her around the country letting people know.
