The little angel of Colombia (full documentary)

Albeiro Vargas is today 26 years old but, for the old people he assists for fifteen years, he remains “the little angel of Colombia”. His story is the story of a little boy who once decided to devote his life to the oldest and to the destitute.
Albeiro was still a kid of hardly 9 years, born of the shanty towns, when he started to help the old people of his district. At the time, we had filmed him in the poor districts of Bucaramanga, a small city in the north of Colombia. Following the broadcast of this documentary, in 1991, Albéiro had been contacted by thousands of people and several associations which made a point of supporting his work.
Fifteen years later, we find “the little angel of Colombia”. Today, he is a young family man and also a businessman which succeeded in offering to his protégées a roof, a board and even the medical care they need. Each day, faithful to his ideals of youth and to his vocation, he exerts to make live the establishment which he made build for the happiness of his dear old.
This documentary tells the story of Albeiro, of his devotion and work, which is also the story of his protégées. -

Politicians, governments including ourselves can learn from this exemplary example of unconditional love, understanding and compassion. This lovely gentleman is such an amazing inspiration. A nine year old with meager means is now living his dream of helping others. What a wonderful selfless individual. This young man and all the young helpers are truly a blessed miracle. There are many beautiful hearts like this around the globe and it couldn't hurt the rest of us to emulate even 1/10th of the love, happiness and joy they spread in there community. The world is full of pain and corruption and these beautiful young people bring a warmth and care and shining ray of hope to countless souls, a bright guiding light that I pray will spread like wild fire to the rest of the world. His smile alone shares a love, care and warmth of heart, you can tell what joy it gives him, but his strength, motivation and dedication under such conditions and opposition is surely deserving of a Sainthood. I was a primary caregiver for my 80+ year old mom, with the help of family and a few nurses, and I know what it takes and takes out of you over time. I cant even imagine an entire community. I wish I could give all of them big hugs. They are all truly miracles. God bless them all in this life and the next. I hope they all receive the best of love and life as they grow older, they all deserve a great and wonderful life.

Oldies are so lucky here, having said that we have been witnessing other hospices workers beating up oldies but this one they are so lucky to have him they are so happy, they are living in a huge clean place, with food also the treatments they get is gentle with love its much much better than the other hospices, all these children have hearts for oldies, Thanks to this 9 year old boy for all the love he shared with oldies, now hes growing up and hes still with them. He's been blessed already and this is a most relevant story for children to learn from

While I have lived in Colombia but mostly I remember going to the barrios up in Quito. My heart cried when I recall their poverty. This man's life shows what we as humans should be doing. Love, concern, compassion and a whole lot of work sharing without bias. Marvelous!!
