Thanks a lot for your wonderful videos. Fascinating, what your able to do with your Little Rig! One of the best street legal Jimnys! One question: How is your long term experience with the Protrack low gears? Good quality, no problems? My Jimny has a lift and front and rear lockers. Works fine. But still original tire size. Transmission for me is already a little bit too long, would be worse with bigger tires. Shorter gears would allow me put on bigger tires. Would be the ideal combination.
@TheLittleRig2 жыл бұрын
Thankyou so much. The gears are fantastic quality. I’ve had zero issues whatsoever. With the gearing I have, 87% low 17% high, 32” tyres are ideal. But there are lesser gearing options available from Protrack that would suit a 31” or 30” tyre perfectly 😊

Another nicely explained video. Quick question, after adding in bull bar, winch and other mods; is it not affecting ride handling? What about on-road manners; acceleration, top-speed and fuel economy? Table is awesome. Would you be able to make one for me when I buy my Jimny? ;) Thank you for all the efforts you are making to bring these videos. Cheers bro!
@TheLittleRig3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, well it definitely affects my fuel economy. My field economy is terrible. I only get around 300-320km per tank. That’s because of some weight added obviously but also the big tires. As far as handling though, all the weight down low keep me very ‘grounded’ and the actually handling is fantastic. Better than a stock Jimny in my opinion. But accelerating and braking is noticeably worse.
@hutcho62452 жыл бұрын
Hey man what an inspiration. So you obviously added a lift kit and lockers, but are you still running stock axel and arms etc? Also any engine mods?
@TheLittleRig2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, still stock axles at this stage as I won’t replace them till one breaks (if it does). I have 33’s on these days and they’re still holding up fine. I do have heavy duty drive shafts in though. As for the engine, my main priority is going slow (crawling) so I haven’t had any desire to beef that up really. I have a Legendex exhaust system in, plus the snorkel and k&n filter which together maybe make for a tiny performance increase. Thanks heaps for the kind words mate 😊

Hey mate! Love the build! You used to have a Bei House spare wheel carrier I believe, and I just ordered one! Wondering how/where you ran the wires from the work light into the car to connect them up?
@TheLittleRig3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate so the best way that I found (which not everyone will be happy to do) is to remove the rear window wiper and run the wire straight through that hole with a rubber grommet to waterproof it. I never ever used that wiper and it’s hidden anyway, so to me there was no point having it, and it provided the perfect wiring solution 😊

Did you extend the bump stops at all? I have 235's and I notice that they scrape the linings in front. Was there anything else that you did besides the offset rims to get them to fit?
@TheLittleRig2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate when I had 235’s I did need to trim a tiny little bit away from my bullbar to avoid scrubbing under flex and steer. With the 33’s I have now I have to cut absolutely heaps of metal away from the wheel arches to make them fit and still get full flex range. I don’t think you’ll need to worry about extended bump stops with 235’s. I was still even able to take the sway bar out and get an extra 100mm of flex with the 235’s, so I think it may be a case of a tiny bit of trimming for you.

I saw how your rig evolved from 29 to 30 and finally to 32, which means you definitely have real experience. TY in advance!
@TheLittleRig2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, 30’s will def be of for 50/50 city and off-road. You’ll lose some fuel economy obviously and will be a little slower to get rolling from traffic lights, but other than that no worries at all. As for the reductions, it will have very high rpm with 30” tyres, so be prepared to have about 4000rpm+ when driving at 100Km/h. I have 33” tyres and that only just makes my rpm a bit more normal In high range. Having said that, the reductions are well worth it purely for the off-road benefits 😊

@@TheLittleRig sorry to trouble you once again.
