this is such a minor thing but Jake destroying the twins’ fan art wall while they were gone made me feel so bad for them. like, they’re constantly harassed and called racist slurs in a place where they don’t get fed and are scared to sleep- and their only source of appreciation or respect in their hectic living situation, their fans, is destroyed while they go to visit family for a few days. like seriously. what the fuck?? also that house went through so much shit, like it makes me grit my teeth when i watch them destroy stuff and light the damn yard on fire

Seeing people abuse housing like that irks me even more now given my own country (Canada) is in a housing crisis. @Lord FreeRealEstate ya must have been some of that going on. I mean the twins he mentioned. Almost seem like they were sent to the US to make money and send it back. Which I get it can be a stuggle in other countries. But parents here send their kids to Jake , I'd imagine they had to sign a contract. Its why we never hear from the parents. I'm pretty sure if Jake was holding all these contracts over kids heads , the parents could like take him to court for kidnapping and weight some heavy allegations over him. Purely just to get their kid out of this contract. But I have a feeling the parents are the ones who handed their kids over to him and really dont care. Sad. Wouldn't be surprised. And they probably signed a nda as well because u never hear anything from the parents. Your underage, they can't just sign a contract for 5 years and live with this dude without the parents approval. Otherwise, I'm sure the parents would love to have the opportunity to sue him.
@escapedgoat5865
@escapedgoat5865 Жыл бұрын
@demolazer I think it's because the parents signed this contract and the parents probably signed a nda as well. Because I find it hard to belive that kids signed a contract for 5 years and love with a random adult and Jake was never sued. And the parents don't even speak out. I think the parents signed something basically handing their kids over. Honestly I think for them to love with him there might even be a temporary custody thing. Which is more then just paper work. He had access to the twins paper work that they didn't have. Sounds like he was taking steps thru the law along with the parents approval. No way no one seen an opportunity and attempted sued him. It's because they signed all that paper work.

Looking back on this shit now he psychologically tortured everyone in that fucking house like I knew he did back then but getting distance from the time it actually happened holy fuck. It’s honestly incredible (I mean this in the worst way possible) that the parents of these kids wanted them to be famous so badly they left them in the hands of that sociopath. dont let them do shit completely unmonitored. don't go all helicopter on them, but make sure they aren't watching this shit. you can't stop them from seeing all of it, but at the very least you'll know that they're watching it and you can guide them through it. tell them how awful it is, and show them something a little more enriching. as in, almost anything else. ensure they don't get sucked in, that's the most you can do without keeping them largely offline. As a kid i didn't really use the internet or watch youtube, which i think was a solid move, really. i had access to a bunch of games, even from a young age, but i understood i shouldn't play some of them because it could give me nightmares and such. I did a lot of Starcraft, played on the PS2, stuff my parents got when they were kids. admittedly, i've always been perceptive, but you can still keep your kid safe as long as you're checking in on them. you don't need to obsessively monitor their behavior, but don't leave them unobserved either. Make sure you know at least the generalities of what they're doing. make sure they know it's not that they can't be trusted, it's that not all people online can be trusted, that sort of thing. make sure the child is cautious. not necessarily apprehensive or on edge, but aware of the bad shit that can go on.

You are one of the only KZbinrs whose ads I watch because you really put a lot of effort into your videos! Thanks for talking about serious stuff like this.

The amount of disdain I hold for these two is pretty strong and doubly so seeing the kids they preyed upon coming into adulthood and having a severely warped sense of what life should be. Tons of cross over between the Paul brother fans and those who follow even worse role models later on such as Andrew Tate. I can only hope they face actual repercussions at some point but sadly reality is rarely that kind.

The whole "Team Ten" thing sounds like when Call Me Kevin plays "The Sims 4", and locks characters in a basement to make content under Jim's name, so he can get famous. LMAO.

I'm a babysitter for two young boys and the ten year old would absolutely 100% believe he could win a mega mansion on the mystery box website. We've already had conversations where he's tried to convince me that there are apps that just make you real money by tapping, that his friend has access to military grade spy gear, that certain kid youtubers who are like 7 have all their own money- people dont understand that at that age kids are still navigating through the world in a mixed state of make believe and reality- make believe to make up for what they dont fully understand, reality that they still don't know the extent of- making scams like these not only disgusting but scarily effective.

I was actually a fan of jake back then when team ten was around. I was there when he got the part on Disney, but I was also 13 so my judgement was severely lacking at the time…

In an alternate timeline where Jake Paul did become a soldier, not only would he be the first to commit war crimes if given the chance, he'll also enjoy and brag about it.

A handful of generations ago, people fought to tightly restrict how people can advertise to children. It's slowly been lobbied away since, and we're now seeing what a completely de-regulated and unrestricted version of direct marketiting to children looks like. It's an absolute gold mine, with potentially disastorous results for developing generations. I doubt people back then though could've predicted something would along and side-step TV completely like this. It's been like a trap door just giving way all of a sudden, plunging whole generations into concentrated, unfiltered advertising. It's gonna have fucked so many people up man.

What's interesting is that Logan at least has something of value he sometimes does and could do without being a POS. He's a gifted athlete. He could have just went that avenue and actually been a benefit to culture. But the thing with people like him and Jake is that as humans they are rotten to the core. Their only goal is "success" and they define that by clout and money, not by accomplishments. I don't care how hard they work. I'd rather them be crack addicts broke begging on the street than be financially profitable and hard working making the world worse for their existence.
