Thank you! we have a more recent video on building one. Check it out, thanks for watching

I really enjoyed the video! I like how you used materials and scrap metal to build it and it works very well! I like the pulley idea to double the pulling/ lifting power! I will have to add one to mine! I made something Similar yesterday out of squared tubing I had laying around. I had an extra set of trailer tries and hubs off another trailer laying around. I got the harbor freight 2500lb badland winch on sale for $67 and it has a wireless control! It’s pretty neat.

The baby "pulley" or snatch block came off a cheap harbor freight come -a- long.

tHanks for the video. What pulleys did you use on your log arch? I've made and filmed an arch but use it without a com-a-long set up. Happy New Year everyone!

The top pulleys are metal idler pulley's off a pickup truck. The snatch blocks are off broken come a longs. The winch is a HF boat winch. Happy new year!

tHank you @@Twobrothersoutdoors . I came across some old gym equipment that used some type of composite pulley. I'm tempted but would prefer metal. Metal, even with a warn out bearing would last. tHanks for the details!

Love that top weld where they lap each other. You know at Lowes they sell pipe connectors for tubing. they are not threaded ,they have lock nuts . I found them by accident near the black iron pipe section. They are cheap too. Your rig is good. What are the tiresaxles? Just cut off car axles?
@Twobrothersoutdoors Жыл бұрын
The top tubing on these arches are actually old tie rod tubes from big trucks. The axles are off an old hay wagon but the spindles off the rear axle from a front wheel drive car or an old trailer axle. Thanks for watching

This thing is great ol but I’m puzzled as to why you didn’t use a $50 harbor freight 12v winch. I feel like that boat winch would get old in a hurry.

We work way out in the woods. Our intentions were to keep the design simple to lessen the chance of something going wrong. The boat winch really works well. Thanks for watching and the input.

Very impressive, I really need one of those, how heavy do you think that stick is?

We have carried more than 2000 lb logs on our arches. We will have a video coming out in the morning on these log arches, dimensions, how to build them. What worked and what didn't. Be sure to catch that video tomorrow! Thanks for watching!

Thanks, where can I buy one of those pulleys? The ones I see on Amazon seem to be a little weak, Thanks again
@Twobrothersoutdoors Жыл бұрын
@@enchantedmountain5354 I work for international truck dealership. Those pulleys are fan belt idler pulleys. I imagine any car idler pulley that is steel would work.

why is your attachment to the atv so high?
@Twobrothersoutdoors Жыл бұрын
The atv is low impact to our trails and forest land. The purpose of the attachment being so high is to get the log completely off the ground to keep it clean from dirt and mud. Our trails do not have to be groomed from pulling logs down them. It makes Trail maintenance is less time consuming
