Jerry West was good, but he was no Michael Jordan! His silhouette is on the NBA logo because he is Caucasian! That's it! This aspect of RACISM typifies the Caucasian ethnicity. Examine the National Basketball Association in terms of individual player history, and player ethnicity. Then explain why does jerry west's silhouette, a white boy, represent the National Basketball Association? Was jerry west in his prime a better guard or better clutch player than Michael Jordan? Does jerry west's career stats compare to Michael Jordan's? So, again, why is jerry west's silhouette on the NBA logo? Oh I forgot. He was the best player in the history of the National Basketball Association, right? LOL! Again, was he in his prime and his entire career a better player than Michael Jordan? Absolutely not!

The NBA is not trying to be racist by having Jerry West as a logo, If it bothers you that much I dare you to write a letter to the NBA and say the NBA should be represented by Black people only therefore change the logo because it's offensive to African American's! Jonathan,...with all respect, you are misunderstanding me: I AM NOT saying that Michael Jordan's silhouette should be on the NBA logo simply because he is an African-American. What I AM saying is that Michael Jordan's silhouette should be on the NBA logo because he is, more than likely, the best individual, all around professional basketball player in the history of the National Basketball Association! So, Jonathan, it has nothing to do with is ethnicity! It has nothing to do with his race. If YOU do some RESEARCH, you will find out that while Jerry West was certainly a good NBA player, he was absolutely no Michael Jordan! Jerry West and Michael Jordan both played the position of guard. But if you COMPARE Jerry West statistics to Michael Jordan's statistics, there is no comparison! Michael Jordan was simply much better, much better than Jerry West! Michael Jordan had much better, skills than Jerry West...and he proved it! If Michael Jordan was Caucasian, he should still be on the NBA logo because he was a better player than Jerry West! The National Basketball Association is 89 percent African-American. It is not 89 percent African-American because the players are African-American. Players are chosen because of there skill level. So the best players in the NBA make it to that elite level because they are the best. But they also just happen to be African-American. If I chose a basketball team, or a baseball team, or a soccer team, or a football team, I want the best PLAYERS for that team. I don't care what race or color or ethnicity they are! If the best for that team just happen to be mostly African-American, so what! If they are the best to choose from, then, oh well... Most Caucasian people are disillusioned, racist, people. If you do some research, you will discover that they did not get anything at all, by honesty and merit. They took, stole, killed, oppressed, lied, and cheated, conned, etc there way to anything that you see in American today! So Jerry West is on the NBA logo not because is was the best PLAYER in the history of the National Basketball Association. His silhouette is on the NBA logo because is white and that's the truth!

Also, Jonathan, if you played any sport, but you competed against only Hispanic guys, then how can the public really tell just how good you are? An athlete has to be allow to compete against anyone and everyone. Only then can the public really tell just how good that athlete is. So Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb played only against white guys. That is not good. Back then, they didn't let Black guys or Hispanic guys or Asian guys play. It was not because they couldn't play baseball. It was because they were not white. That's called racism. Caucasian people are weak, Jonathan.
