actually you can have it since several years. KZbinr Pausenclows once played the "Hunted" Challenge, but he played it as a normal Let's play. He never went for the rifle, but played as if it was a regular survival mode run ;)

The fact that you can't see whats chasing you is making it even worse, scarier. Theres no limit in human imagination, more so for scary, dark things. Voice acting and ambient sounds are top notch as always

I remember the devs talking about implementing Big Foot into the game as a rare easter egg.. depending on how this looks and works, might it be remotely inspired by that idea? I could imagine Big Foot usually being a calm and shy creature, but as with all wildlife, the lights might have altered its behavior.. If we don't receive clues on the backstory of this event, that'll be my backstory anyway 😂👻

Honestly I've been wanting something Wendigo horror themed to be chasing us in this game for a long time and this is the closest thing we've gotten so far, so I'll take it! Hopefully we get a permanent mode for it later.

a wendigo mode would be incredible. especially if it at first there were just clues to its existence (ravaged bodies, large tracks in the snow) and then it would start hunting you.

I have finally beaten the darkwalker, i survived 1 hour and gathered all 6 pages, at the end i killed myself by jumping of a bridge, i don't think the darkwalker got me this time and if, it was a hell of work for him to climb down the cliff.

Tried it right as it launched, made it over an hour into the game then since I was gonna loose anyway since I was cornered and was freezing and had no energy, I decided to get some cool screen shots, if you use Steam check them out.... they're less cool then I was hoping for..

Dear Dev Team, A Multiplayer mode consists of max 3 players perhaps will be a great pair with this mode or even normal mode. The players only able to communicate by talk within 10 meters radius and their voice getting softer as they move further away from each other. And then, there will be walkie talkie for 50 meters radius with battery limitation. Surviving together is fun! Cheers, Dan

So I got to play it a bit, there are some useful things you may want to know below... The Darkwalker can teleport when you switch region. I found this out the hard way going from Coastal Highway to Mystery Lake. It appeared in front of me on the railroad bridge. At least this showed me that you can sprint past it. You will take a good amount of condition damage though. You're meant to visit at least 6 main Regions and get a diary page from the green campfire in each one to unlock a new Feat (although it isn't a very useful one). I'd suggest starting in one of the dead-end Regions like Timberwolf Mountain, Broken Railroad or Desolation Point and plotting a course that gets you through as many Regions as possible while spending as little time possible in them, especially Regions you might have to revisit to reach others.

@@dryocampa The Feat makes it so you become fatigued faster in the daytime, but more slowly fatigued at night. The pages/campfires can be found in every main region, not the transitional regions like the Ravine and Crumbling Highway. Your map is fully revealed in the event, you know your position on the map and the campfires are visible on the map, which is especially useful because you only have a few minutes upon entering each region before a dense fog settles in.

You can run, definitely but you will eventually run out of places to run to. Can you hide? No, no you cannot, it knows where you are, it will never stop, all you can do is keep it away for a while and run for your soul. The DarkWalker is near.

The atmosphere in this challenge was absolutely incredible. The mystery of the Darkwalker, the diary, the fires... Seeing the ghostly light of a fire in the distance, the sound design of this otherworldly creature... So good. Gameplay as well, really loved having a completely new element introduced on top of the standard game. The fact that the Darkwalker operates on real time really throws everything you know about the game on its head. SPOILER The finale was SOO climactic and exciting. Really top notch job, I think, if a bit tedious to learn the rules, and definitely not 6/6 difficulty once you understand them.

Появилось новое испытание «Бегство от Темнохода (Darkwalker)», в котором нужно попытаться найти десять записок (ничего не напоминает?), раскиданных по разным локациям, параллельно избегая Темнохода, загадочного и не менее жуткого, могущественного чудовища, которое будет преследовать главного героя, всегда зная, где он находится. Ничто не способно остановить его, кроме специального баллончика с особой краской. Рисуя этой краской глифы, то есть символы, можно манипулировать Темноходом, но только ограниченное время. Второй, не менее опасной сущностью является туман. Токсический туман. Он возникает, если игрок засиживается на одной локации слишком долго. Его появление крайне негативно влияет на пищу и напитки в инвентаре, порча их до несъедобного состояния за секунды. Также от это негативно влияет на здоровье персонажа, умерщвляет всех животных в локации.
