Indeed a wholesome vibe. If I were to make an educated guess, camping may not be as big of a thing in the UK as it is the US or Canada, so a folding camp chair would be more of a novelty to a British man.

You go to inflate something and the pressure of the air being blown into the hole shoots the end out, so you got to hold it in place. They are annoying, if only there was a universal standard where they clicked in.

Tim can make anything seem interesting even a common bag chair. I am from America and the bag chair as we call them have been around since the early 2000's. I don't know if the have caught on in the UK like they have in America. They are sold in every store that sells lawn chairs and almost every household has several of them. At fiest I thought what turned out to be the "floaty paddle" was something like an ab wheel for workouts, but meant to be used on water, like you'd kneel on your floating mat and move in and out to work your core while on the water.

1:07 reminds me of the discussion in philosophy that pressing a button a light year away with a long stick (equivalent of the distance) is faster than the light traveling to the button. i think its obvious that you cant compare the two functions

When you push your end of the stick, the whole stick doesn't move at once. The movement travels as a compression wave along the length of the stick (at whatever the speed of sound is in the material it's made of).

My guess is that they're not as popular in the UK as they are in the US? Every major store carries them in the summer around here, so not much of a novelty, but always nice to see Tim marvel at seemingly everyday objects.
