On today's autism family vlog: Andy is going on his first ever holiday in a hotel, but first he needs to go on the longest journey of his life. We head to Blackpool for a vacation thanks to Premier Inn, who have partnered with us on this series and are providing the room to us free of charge. ABOUT KEVIN CHAPMAN
Hi, I'm Kevin Chapman, a full-time KZbinr, author, podcaster, speaker and occasional teacher from Peterborough, UK. As part of my daily vlog I release new videos every day at 5pm UK time with topics including life as an autism family, conventions and geek culture, technology, education and tutorials and entrepreneurship.
When I left my full-time as a Computer Science teacher in July 2017, my partner, Anna, was trapped in our house by our son Andy, who is autistic and had refused to go to school for 18 months. Our daughters Lucy and Amy and our dog Dave hardly saw me because I was always working to try and solve all our problems! Today I'm a full-time content creator who's always at home when my kids get home from school (all our kids!) and Anna has been able to return to university. This channel is the story of my family's ongoing journey! Previously known as lollujo Vlogs.

I really like Andy. His communication is simple and to the point, but still (to ppl that understand autism) works. Kev- “are you enjoying the drive?” Andy- “premier inn” Translation- I don’t mind the drive as long as it gets me to where I want to go- the premier inn!

I went ro blackpool 4 years ago and stayed in that exact premier in . The breakfast in the pub is amazing and i think kids eat free , its like a buffet ITS AMAZING , have a great time all of you best wishes, Archie :)

Loads of chip shops on the back streets. There’s a belter right at the end of north pier behind the hilton. You can sit n and park nearby. Lovely food there.

This is very strange seeing you walking round my local Tesco!! I live in a little village called Freckleton but that's the nearest big Tesco for miles. If in blackpool definately recommend popping to lytham, little quaint town on the beach 10 mins down the road :) would have come to the meet up today however was working till 5pm :( hope you're all having a good time xxx

Bad memory of that premier inn, is it close to Wigan? We went to a hotel in Black pool, that was SHOCKING, so we went round black pool all night and could find one, we then drove 2 hours to a premier in near Wigan, was the worst night ever.

Hey. Recently found your channels because of your football manager stuff. My brother is also autistic and when he was younger he had a thing about trains and busses where he would have to be the first at the button to get off. So on a train he would be first at the doors to press the button to open the doors and on the bus he would do similar stuff. Does your son have similar traits? The only autistic person i've been around really is my brother so i'm interested in learning how austism effects different people. Thanks.
