the best series - that I watched - with several very long and dramatic games... were the 2003 and 2004 ALCS between the Sox and Yankees....those games were just insane....
@Pissgremlin59642 ай бұрын
2003 was absolutely DEVASTATING!! SOUL CRUSHING!!!! But it made 2004 so much more incredible!! That was such an amazing time and to make it perfect, I turned 21 in August of 2003! What a ride!!!

Yankee games used to be torture. Posada visiting the mound seemingly between every pitch was beyond ridiculous.
@LionZebra2 ай бұрын
Where did you get that from? Your impression or do you actually have any evidence that he walked to the mound more often than the average for his time or compared to other pitchers?

As a German who doesn't know all that much about baseball (but who is really interested in baseball history) games like this always remind me of one single sentence of the movie that made me a baseball fan in a country in which nobody cares about baseball: How can you now be romantic about baseball?

So Dusty Baker brought in a not 3rd baseman to play 3rd base. Next inning, he brought in a Shortstop to not play Shortstop. Brilliant.

You should have seen Earl Weaver and his substitutes. If a game was out of reach, he’d put a reserve infielder in to pitch, so as not to wear out a real pitcher.

I remember this game, what a hell of a game this was. I live on the east coast so when I get off work I try to catch the west coast games. I doubt we will see something like this anytime soon. Something sorta like this happened in 2023 or 2022 was it the Astros VS Seattle ?? I think and they went to I think the 15th or 16th inning.

Great job man I was at this game with my grandparents and vest friends even though the giants lost it a special I was sitting in the bleacher Right next to the 420 sign. My grandfather was a dodger fan and he didn't move when bonds hit home run he stat there like nothing had happened 😅

Great Game.... At first, I thought this was the season that Giants won on the last day (if I remember right), after one of the greatest season comebacks in which they gain so many games in a short period of time at the end... Also, that shot at Dusty Baker is wrong, because he is one of the great mangers of all time!!!!

I'm pretty sure the previous record was Yankees vs Red Sox in 2006. That game took 4 hours & 45min to complete.

That 25 inning game between the Chisox and the Brewers, Carlton Fisk caught the entire game. He actually almost caught 3 games worth of baseball in one game ... 😮

If you turned every home run bonds hit ever into an out his career on base percentage would be 384. That’s higher than 95%of the hall of fame alone.So you’re point is invalid
