In the early 80's I helped run an FM pirate station here in Manchester. I swear this record was rarely off my turntables! Such a great song!

I used to listen this before studying for my GCE's. I heard it on Sarah Cox on radio 2 last night and it brought back a flood of memories. Great song

It was a UK top 10 hit single in the UK singles charts in January '81. I remember it very well.Great song it was I think.

I had the vinyl single for this one - the concluding "I am the beat... beat... beat..." went around the loop in the centre, and continued looping until you lifted the tonearm.

I worked with the drummer Trevor in London in the late 1980's.He was a lovely chap always doing crosswords instead of trying to get money in so the boss could pay us our wages.
