Here I Am, Lord, also known as "I, the lord of sea and sky," is a well known Christian hymn written by Dan Schutte in 1981. Its words are based on Isaiah 6:8 and 1 Samuel 3. It is published by OCP Publications and has become one of the most well known Catholic hymns in use today.
Despite its Catholic origins, Schutte's hymn is also sung in many Protestant worship services and is found in most Christian hymnals being translated into over 20 languages. It has been used at many Papal Masses and at International World Youth Day events.

It actually makes me cry seeing these boys sing, knowing that many will grow older and move away from the Lord. I hope Jesus stays with them in their hearts until eternity

If they are saved, they will ALWAYS be saved; they cannot stop believing or lose faith. A saved person is born-again, a child of God, and a new creature. What I would be more concerned about is whether these young men are saved or not, whether they believe in the correct gospel.

Be encouraged Reuben - I was part of this recording (aged 13 or so) and atheist as they came. I made the choice to follow Jesus about 3 years ago and have given my life over to the Lord. So take heart!

@@palmtreesmusic1945 one can lose their salvation. an easy example is judas: he, being one of the 12, was destined for Heaven, but he made the choice to deny and betray Jesus. will he, who had sent Jesus to the cross, be saved?

The congregation of New Hope Presbyterian Church in La Feria, Texas, U.S. thanks you for this beautiful version of one of our favorite hymns. We are worshiping together as a congregation on Zoom because of COVID and music like this is such a blessing! This was our closing hymn last Sunday - a wonderful way to end our time together and turn our thoughts to what God is calling us to do in the non-digital world! We praise God for all the boys and young men in the choir, for the choir director and organist, and for all the technical folks who recorded and shared this music, making it possible for us to watch and listen online!
