Just finished my first play through this first scenario with gimli and legolas and it went super well. Legolas was always 2 spaces away and snipping enemies with that hunter card that gave him 1 aditional range. And gimli is also very strong.

In the opening battle, I think I would have activated Legolas first. Use his ability to move away from the enemies and pelt the helpless ruffians with arrows (no counterattack). Then, Aragorn steps in and finish the survivors. Lead the charge is still usable. If you have one action left (likely), Aragorn can try to open the chest.

Shawn Calderon legolas has the ability to use one inspiration token to move one space without triggering attacks.

Aragorn’s ability allows an extra card draw “during the rally phase.” You drew an extra card between adventures while setting up the battle maps. Does the rule book identity that as a rally phase? Seems like you shouldn’t be able to use Aragorn’s ability in that situation.

It is not a rally phase so Aragon's ability would not activate during this setup. The app specifically would say Rally Phase before scouting where he would be able to look at 4 cards. Minor error in play.

It's not the rally phase in between events. So Aragon's ability doesn't activate. That was a mistake. :)

Nice to see this episode out so soon after the previous one so didn’t have to wait too long for the cliffhanger to be resolved. Thanks for making this series it has helped to keep up my excitement for the game. I have my copy on pre-order with a UK OLGS so I am hoping it will be shipped by 18/5 and might be able to play by next weekend, hopefully before I have forgotten everything that I have learned from your videos.

That would be incredible. They have already announced today another campaign with 11 or so adventures in the upcoming app. Also the figures I mentioned in the app in the last video are coming soon as well. There’s a lot of room for expansion here!

B. C. Eckhoff Definitely a worth of it! Those card board peaces Are nice but 3D terrain definitely bring some bling to the game! I Expect to really pimped up versions of this game! Boulders statues, porticulas, threes and bushes, animated fireplaces ;)

I just had to. Cardboard tokens in games are pretty normal and expected but adding a 3D element really make the game pop. Might as well create an experience! :)

Looks like Interesting choices to be made on level up skills. No strike or Fate on them so until you prepare them they make your deck worse. But they are better than some of the basic skills.

Ya, there seems to be around 10-11 adventures per campaign. So quite a pile of scenarios to advance across. The new cards will be useful prepared. As they go along fate and success icons show up on them.

My question at this point is are both of the hero's both at a level 1 experience in this quest, or does experience accumulate and be factored in after the quest completion? Basically are is there a level progression system? Absolutely stellar vid here yet again. Thank you Adam 👍💥

Hey diadems! If you’re asking if the XP moved from adventure to adventure it does within a campaign. In terms of leveling, it’s your skill deck and items which you get to upgrade which in turn levels up your character. Thanks for the kind words! Keep an eye out for the future finale video :)

I am still trying to figure out spaces.. like "nearby" heroes is only the space you are in, or adjacent spaces? melee can only attack in the space they are in right? between gray lines?

I don't understand why on the second scenario at about 44:00, that Aragorn was able to scout 4. His ability was only during the rally phase.

Sorry for all the comments I type them as I watch. Legolas will totally be able to hit that elite marauder twice because of his keen eyes without having to move am inch. That's super useful. Also: Legolas got a second weakness in the first scenario are you stuck with that still?

Hey Blake! The rules refer each states that when the adventures finish an adventure and can buy and upgrade during the camp phase that all tokens, weaknesses and boons are removed. Of course each hero then draws a new weakness as they should always have one. Hope this helps!

Hello Christian! I’d like to see what they do with them in the future. I don’t mind adding proxy content to the game to spice it up. I do that with a lot of games as the cost for them to do it would send it over the top. Usually make use of pieces from other games works well. In terms of the artwork on the boards, they’re pretty standard, I agree. It is the base game and I’m sure they’ll get quite interesting going forward. There’s quite a bit they could do with them. Cheers!

Just a thought about lead the attack.... It says after you attack. Would that have allowed Legoloas to do the attack as part of your attack, before you had to apply the damage from the enemy?

Hey Ian! Thanks for watching and great question. If you’re referring to when Legolas gained a free attack during Aragorn’s turn, Aragorn’s attack and the counter attack would happen first before Legolas could attack. You must resolve all the pop ups within the app before beginning another attack. Hope this helps! :)

Question regarding the new role card (A Fey Mood) that you spent XP on for Aragorn at 36:25. I see that the “Strike 2” doesn’t appear to be separated from the card’s ability above it. Does that mean you can use both of those abilities at once or do you have to choose one or the other? Sorry if that’s confusing, but I thought that the only time you have to choose between which ability you want to use on the card is when there is a gap between them signifying that they are two separate things. But those don’t look like they are separated

Cody Blencowe You get the top ability as long as the card is prepared. Once you use it for Strike 2 it’s discarded. Hope this helps :)

Boy I'm looking at the running time of all the videos you've done for this playthrough and it's huge. 4.5 hrs roughly, then there's the bandit leader camp to come. Even if you take 1 hr away to allow for your explanation of the rules it's still 3.5 hrs. That might be great for some people, not so easy for me. Hmmm just when I thought I was sold on this lol.

Hey Warpaint! I played this three player off camera with no explainations of course and all gameplay. We beat the first Chapter and second Chapter in two hours and a half hours with 15 mins of teaching. Video adds quite a bit of extra time. Hope this helps!

20 minute mark ... you need better strategy. Choosing who Aragorn attacks ... he needed 2 successes either way to kill either but Legolas only needed 1 success to kill the weaker (with rage adding hits) you should have had Aragorn hit the stronger. Legolas would have killed the weaker with the 1 success pulled ... saving you inspiration. You need to think things out better

Combat was boring as hell. I cant believe how FFG is on the high speed train going downhill these recent years. Your playthrough was once again top notch, yet the game a complete frustratuon, especialy a game of such a powerful franchise.
