Bro Gandalf the grey’s inscription art looks amazing!! I wanna through him in a deck with either zaffai or even ovika just for that awesome value. He would be excellent support for either one, if ovika, he can damage the opposition enough to where a mini goblin army smacks everyone out or that copy effect in for zaffai/veyran magecraft buffs, damage, tokens and top deck manipulation lol.

I really dislike the Gandalf they threw at us. He is not in Naya, or Boros colors, he somehow cares about noncreature spells which Gandlaf in LotR does not at all. I just hate it...

Not sure I'd call a 15cmc (at least)/4card combo amazing! :P He's neat enough though. Needed to be 4cmc really, but he's a reasonable casual card that will probably stay fairly cheap because they didn't push him, so can't really complain there.

Wouldn't it be cool is the ring .works and triggers abilities on Sauron himself.. And also if they make a card for the volcano of where Sauron made and frodo (and Sam, and Gollum) destroyed the ring. I wonder the effects..one would be to destroy the ring, the other would be Sauron makes the ring but you have to either give up life or sack something. Or one of each..fits the lore..

That doesn't seem like a 3/4 punching him in the face, that seems like a spell caster doing spell caster stuff. Again, I might be just thinking of it in basic, straight ahead terms, not taking in broader aspects.

Power doesn't just mean physical might. Power and Toughness are just abstract representations of raw ability. There's plenty of scrawny legendary spellcasters that are 4/4s and up.

The One Ring has no synergy with flickering as the protection only when IT'S CASTED. Sure it can reset the counters for less life loss but by then there is better options for card draw. This card would be more useful in an Emry, Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage or Drafna, Founder of Lat-Nam deck. And the fact it's not an equipment is a flavor fail. As for Gandalf the Grey, it is so bad for 5 mana. I go go on and on why. I can only hope the two other Gandalf cards are going to be less disappointing.

People really thrown around "flavor fail" way too liberally. The same concept can be communicated multiple ways. The flavor as it is used here is that YOU the player are wearing the ring, that's why YOU get protection and lose life.

I think that it should be as bellow: Plains - Rohan/Gondor Forest - Mirkwood (as is, anything else would be stupid) Swamp - Dead Marshes Mountain - Mt Doom Island - Bay of Belfalas (as is, am happy with it. Númenor would be cool, but it doesn't exist now in the story) But of course they have to have the Shire on a land and you can't say any of the other lands would work better. Shire has forests yes, but also fields/farmlands and marshes.

The One Ring is solid lorewise but ummm… the card isn’t balanced. It doesn’t need synergy to be immediately spotted as completely broken in Commander. The life loss drawback is kind of a joke considering how many cards you’ll be drawing with it.
