As many of the prior commenters pointed out that solo parts of Renée Fleming are absolutely amazing. The whole soundtrack is great but these parts are my very favorite. Even after years I still haven't come across any music that would be so epic and so beautiful at the same time. Well, any tips for similar music would be much appreciated.

@Frogger It’s weird beauty and relief…that part is when Gollum finally has the ring again, is so consumed by it that he cries in joy while forgetting the horrible environment of the scene
@diverman10233 жыл бұрын
@Frogger Are you an actual frog? The entire point of the passage at 1:09 is to accentuate how much of a slave to the ring Gollum is, aka a contrast to the rest of the piece which is showing despair while this small passage reflects pure peace and relief as Gollum is reunited with the ring...DESPITE the fact that he's in a horrible environment himself. Jeez talk about being simple minded and aggressive
@angeldelgado71203 жыл бұрын
I agree with both your statments. The vocals are so somber and haunting. Like all of nature just got silent and one voice, (The voice of the ancient Ainur) sang out through the choas, in a pure lamment for both the humanity of Gollum and middle earth. I think it represents both the Joy in Gollums heart and the crushing reality that men have failed yet again. I mean from Gollums perspective nothing matters anymore and there is no redemptiom for him any longer. The song helps us focus on that. The vocal draws you in while the visual of Gollem with the ring grabs all your attention, forcing you to accept that he has lost his soul.

This is one of my favorite songs sung throughout the entire lord of the rings trilogy, other then the song that play's through most of the other movies. It happens usually when during epic battles like The Fellowship vs. The Uruk-hai for the first time, the beginning of the battle of helms deep and many other great times throughout the movies.

The hard part of this soundtrack along with the battle of what remained of the fellowship and the conflict between Frodo and Smeagol for the ring at the edge of that volcano at the end of ROTK took out of me one of the most powerfull emotion than no movie ever gave to me until now. My hands got all sweat and cold and my eyes literally got glued to the screen. At the end of the movie I feeled my head blown. O_O xD I both hated and loved this movie for this since I treat movies with indiference xD

That too. But in the book he said, "I do not now choose to do what I came for," indicating a choice despite the strong temptation. In the movie he shouldn't have stared at it for thirty seconds before throwing it in, though it makes sense since they'd come all that way to have a last look.

Dustin Caldwell Yeah, frodo was being super brave, and he remained with the ring till he end, until he could bare it no more, and the ring ended up destroyed, THANK GOD!
@MrChickennugget3607 жыл бұрын
the book has several things that are interesting that i wish they had in the movie, first was Frodo using the Ring to force Gollum to cower on the ground, along with Sam giving him mercy. this makes it a little bit more understandable why the Ring overpowered him, he used it to stop gollum, then it had him in its power, and only Sam sparing Gollum when he wanted to kill him saved the quest.

@Darkmaster300000 You dont think so? The pass was pretty narrow he could of charged foreword and hit him. I would think if he cared enough about frodo he would do it because if he's not willing to let go off it when he's right there then he would never let go of it he would becom another gollum, well he would if Sauron didnt kill Aragon, his army and conquer middle earth. Samwise may not be "wise" but I dont think he's foolish enough to let all that occur, perhaps I'm wrong.
