In some legends of the Kraken, it's described as being so large that people mistook it for an island and it's jaws were belived to be giant rocks... until the "island" and the "rocks" sunk back into the oceans. That in an of itself is a rather scary thought. To sail through this rocky passage, only for it to close in on you as you learn far to late that you have actually just been sailing straight into the jaws of a massive sea creature.

This is actually an interesting idea for the Kraken, I remember when I first started playing I was terrified of getting grabbed because I thought I would see a giant squid under my boat. Also, I sont think the giant Kraken skull in the Cave is the All Mother. You said the All Mother's rib cage was so big you could sail through it, thus that is no where nesr big enough.

Unless I missed it in the book, there is no mention of the Daggers in his back. The book explains how he got his peg leg. The last time you read about him being alive he is telling his old friend/nemesis that he has one more important mission to do before he dies. The next time he pops up in the book is in the future timeline where he is already dead and in the Pirate legend cave. He then says that the Ferryman wasn't a thing when he met his end and that he found a way to cheat death. I think his last mission will have something to do with why the ferryman appeared and will likely be the main story in the next book.

Great introduction to the Lore of the Sea of Thieves, especially the story from the book. I really love your work Captain ! :) ! I've been discussing this over on Twitter to but I feel adding some details and clarifications about this all story would be better right under this video. I guess my comment will be ignored by most, but if it can help some people who really love details and want additionnal information, I'll be happy. Ok let's start. I am not sure about some information and locations in the videos. I will explain here (yes I know some people don't care about the exact details etc... but some people go and watch these videos exactly for that : details). 1 - I think that the cave under the uncharted island is "just" Merrick's Hideout, a cave that he found and had some traces of the ancient civilisation that occupied the Sea of Thieves. 2 - I don't think this cave is the main "meeting chamber" that is described in the book where the ancient civilisation and the merfolks where meeting and talking to each other. Maybe it was one of these chambers if there are multiple places. But it's definitely not the one described in the book where Ramsey (the Pirate Lord) and Mercia, meet the merfolks for the first time and talk to them using a magic item. 3 - The magic Earrings. Mercia and Ramsey were not looking for these earrings specifically, no one knew they existed. They were looking for some magic and just wanted to check this "mysterious location" described to them by and old woman. No one knew that the Earrings were here and what power they had. Mercia is clearly not expecting to find anything in particular. 4 - Ramsey isn't trying to build an alliance to protect people from curses and crused chests. He wants to unify trusty pirates under the same flag. What he wants is that they get organised and stop stealing from each other. Those who agree would be part of the alliance and get a key to be able to opend the magic chests. The goal here is first to protect his own gold that he also hid all around the sea of thieves. He created the cursed chests we find ingame. All of this is according to the book "Athena's Fortune" by Chris Allcock. I might not have understood some parts correctly, being a native French speaker. The book might not be 100% respected for the lore of the game (who knows how the final product will be shaped). So I would say some of the stuff might come in the game later but be a little bit different, and maybe more close to what Captain Falcore described. And here are the extracts taken from the book ! Its crazy to realize how much content the full game was supposed to have.If you rewatch the original trailer,youll see that the squid figure head was the first figure head to be introduce (on the front of the first galleon in cannon cove) and that the sails for the Hungering Deep were already in the beta...All of this to show that they may have introduce futur contents in older trailers...Who knows what we could find?

I have some more info about Krakens. So. These skeletons are skeletons of some species of kraken. Official artwork shows us crustacean kraken, island-mimic kraken, electric kraken and monstrous ancient fish. Maybe that fish is another sort of kraken, IDK. Skeletons that We see on some islands belong to Electric or Crustacean Krakens, because of their form. And we fight another species of kraken without name. It have it's own artwork too.

Future DLC idea: The New Mother A new Kraken threat has been seen roaming the Sea of Thieves and you need to stop it This would be a totally different Kraken fight. For one, it would be too big and too difficult of a fight to complete with just one ship, so a Man O’ War, yes Man O’ War or an alliance would have to take it down. It would swim around you and try to bring your ship under and to kill it you need to find a way inside it’s mouth It’s a very rough concept and some kinks could be worked out here and there but I think it seems cool
