Mr. Whitlock or whatever his name is, is just plain stupid. If you're sitting there trying to tell me Jared Goff isn't good enough, you need a new job. The guys opinions mean nothing to me anyway and quite frankly I feel like he sucks. Anyway Jared Goff can play in the NFL, Jared Goff should have started week one. Jared Goff is the QB the rams need, but as long as Jeff Fisher is the coach Jared Goff won't have any chance to succeed or get better. He messed up with Bradford, he messed up with Foles, and now he's gonna mess with Goff. Fire Jeff Fisher, get a coach who can actually coach and believes in Goff. All the kid needs is someone who believes in him, an offensive line, and reps. Put him out on the field, the guy is built to win games. I pay a lot of my attention to the Pac-12 because I'm an Oregon fan and I live in the state. When cal was on the schedule it was a game everyone checked off as a win. In comes Jared Goff and changes started happening. His freshman year was Rocky of course. As the years went on and as he progressed that cal team got better and better and better. Now they weren't a national power house with Goff. But when he got there as a freshman to where they ended up in his last season. oh man Cal improved exponentially. The guys presence in the pocket is beautiful, his ball placement beautiful, his IQ beautiful, just his full skill set is beautiful. The guy isn't a world class sprinter but he's mobile for sure. His arm is out of this world and he's always gave his receivers chances to make plays.

AllPro777 I honestly think Goff needs to put on more muscle. The man is too skinny to stay in the pocket constantly under pressure and not get injured eventually. Plus, I believe his arm is average at this moment.

JaMarcus Russell actually had number 1 overall pick talent Goff and Wentz should've ended up just like Geno Smith "yeah their a lock for top 5 overall picks" but in reality see you in the second round

No he didn't. Russell was considered a project QB by every team except the Raiders. He would have been a 4th round pick had the Raiders not taken him.

Marco Clarke I was there and remember clearly. The outsiders said lots of bull, I'm talking about NFL teams. The Raiders were the ONLY team projecting him that high. All other teams had him as a project QB. No team even attempted to trade up or negotiate with the Raiders to get Russell, that says it all.

Mr. Colin Cowherd, what's your "defense" of Jared Goff again? Jared Goff is the 3rd string QB, but you can't blame that on The Rams' defensive philosophy. The reason is that many other QBs excelled despite being under defensive regimes (most notably: Cam Newton). Let's take a deeper look. Since drafting Cam Newton in 2011: The Panthers have spent 60% of their draft picks on defense. And most of this is front-loaded (ie, they use their high picks on defensive players): 80% of the Panthers' 1st Pick have been defensive players. 67% of the Panthers' 2nd Pick have been defensive players. 50% of the Panthers' 3rd Pick have been defensive players.

The Panthers spend their high picks on defensive players (good players, guys who make the roster). The Panthers spend their late picks on offensive players (bad players, guys who get cut). What this depicts is a defense-focused philosophy.

So, despite the team giving Cam Newton little-to-nothing he still does the following: 1.) Turns a 1-15 team into a 15-1 team 2.) Leads his team to the Super Bowl 3.) Beats a former pro-bowl QB for the starting job for week 1 (despite a lockout-shortened preseason). 4.) Wins MVP 5.) Becomes the #1 ranked player in the NFL (by his peers) 6.) Gets elected to 3 pro-bowls 7.) Sets dozens of NFL Records 8.) Records the most TDs by any player in history for the first 5 seasons 9.) Records the most yards by any player in history for the first 5 seasons And he's done all of this in the face of constant media derision & acrimony.

+Elias M WRs averaged almost 4 drops a game with him at QB. he only averaged 12 pass APG that's 1/3 of passes flat out dropped not even including the "catchable" balls that were not cought..

Kenny Britt? and he hasn't even had a snap wit Austin on the field this preseason... these are two different situations
