I'm from an island on the atlantic, and immigration has caused homeless to be at an unprecedented level, all renters are not canadian born and our cost of living is approaching a 300% increase in the last 9 years. Thanks so much

@@canadianmmaguy7511While what you are saying is absolutely true, how does that compare to the 95% of the Indigenous populations wiped out by early settlers during the conquering of the New World, many of which groups actually share genetic ties to the Chinese. The Chinese are conquering by economy, not genocide.

@@canadianmmaguy7511What about the Chinese folk that are born here and literally can't return to their ethnic country of origin because under international law, they are Canadians with no other citizenship? At best, due to Asia's strict immigration policies, they would be kicked out of "their country" after a year unless going through extensive paperwork and a good reason to stay. What do we do with those guys?
@canadianmmaguy7511Ай бұрын
@@GrillaStyle the natives who did not have contact with norse and antibodies died from disease mostly, or else europeans would not have had such an easy time. My family came over here as irish slaves in the 1700s. *for people born here, and soon to be born here, you/they are being used to cause a national identity crisis which will divide us all. The gov isn't making programs to assimilate people properly into canadian society and instead is weaponizing mass immigration. Period. I am not against immigratiom, i think it's beautiful when done properly. Canada is not doing anything close to doing it properly, it is weaponizing it.

Captain Cook sure got around, didn't he? (I'm a skippy) Meares sounded like an interesting guy, at least he spoke well of the Chinese. But I just can't imagine their descendants eking out a miserable existence in the interior of Vancouver Island. Except now that I've put it in writing, maybe they did. Or maybe someone got the numbers wrong. Nootka Sound! You gotta respect Martinez the Spanish Navy officer for his manners. Great channel!

So basically the Nuu-chah-nulth (Nootka) people killed their own relatives. As mentioned the Chinese married local Indian women and because they were successful of taking care of their offspring. Then grew in numbers, the pure Nootka saw them as a threat and killed them. That is fvcked up.

HP, you might find this story from Bill Proctor's book "Full Moon Flood Tide" also interesting. It concerns a Chinese logging camp in Greenway Sound on North Broughton Island in the 1930s. On page 128 Bill Proctor wrote, " One night the men and their families packed up their belongings, shot the horses, got in their boats and took off. No one ever knew why they left - it is a mystery to this day. But over the years there have been many reports of a very odd event. If you are in the sound just above Carter Pass on a bright moonlit night, you might see the huge creature that is reported to have come to the surface of the sea and roared like a lion."

An interesting thing that I ponder on. My mom and dad are from south west coast of nfld, they come from generations established in the late 1700’s and early 1800’s. When my mom was a young lady living in Brampton Ont, she was have supper at a Chinese restaurant, the man who owned it asked her if she was from the north, my mom said no I live here. He said again I mean are you from the north. As it turns out he had meant from northern China, she apparently fooled this Chinese man, as she she much resembled the people from there. This had also happened to her two more times, someone from China thinking she was from there. We do believe that there is mi’kmaq in our generations from cape breton, I’ve also watched a documentary once talking about how they figured the Chinese had set up trading ports and settlements with them, as their dress and the way the settlement was built resembles the way Chinese did so back then, or my mom just has some recessive gene coming out 😂
