“What do you know? We don’t all have the luxury of deciding when and where we want to care about something. Suddenly the rebellion is real for you - some of us live it. I’ve been in this fight since I was six years old. You’re not the only one who lost everything, some of us just decided to do something about it.”
My favorite song, it is so beautiful.
Song: • Dragon Age: Inquisitio...
Voice Overs:
“This is Captain Cassian Andor, Rebel Intelligence.”
“There is more than one sort of prison, Captain, I sense that you carry yours wherever you go.”
“I had orders, orders that I disobeyed, but you wouldn’t understand that.”
“Orders? When you know they’re wrong? Might as well be a Stormtrooper.”
“Can’t you see that we are no friends of the Empire?”
“Tell that to the one who killed our men.”
“Calm down, calm down, it’ll be alright.”
“Does he look like a killer?”
“No, he has the face of a friend.”
“You went up there to kill my father.”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Deny it.”
“You’re in shock and looking for someplace to put it. I’ve seen it before.”
“I bet you have.”
“You can’t talk your way around this?”
“I don’t have to.”
“We’ve all done terrible things in behalf of the Rebellion (…) everything I did, I did for the Rebellion. And every time I walked away from something I wanted to forget, I told myself it was for a cause the I believed in, a cause that was worth it. Without that we’re lost. Everything we’ve done would’ve been for nothing. I couldn’t face myself if I gave up now.”
“Trust goes both ways.”
“Do you think anybody’s listening?”
“I do.”
“I’m no used to people sticking around when things go bad.”
“Welcome home.”

I see Cassian and Jyn as two lost souls who were able in each other to find their soul mate. Their love for each other was evident in the way they gazed into each others eyes in the elevator.

Cassian was a former Mexican Cartel boss. He established The Federation, whom later was arrested . Escaped prison and joined the Resistance.

This is beautiful. I have mixed feelings about both the movie, and the character. I love the movie, really, but I can't bring myself to watch it again. For some time, I didn't know what to think about Cassian, but after reading the book, he became one of my favourites. This video captured the essence of the character: the constant conflict of trying to do what's right, while knowing that in reality it's wrong. The title explains this feeling absolutely well: It's kind of means being lost, and that gives an altogether different meaning to the last "Welcome home" line. The "home" is not only not a physical place, but not even the rebellion, but more the Rogue One crew, which ends this lost feeling for both Cassian and Jyn. Also I'm kind of thinking on all the Jyn-Cassian hints in the film and the video, and I have ambigous feelings about the ship as well. I will always see them as people, who weren't really in love. I think they cared for each other, and were attracted to each other, but there was no time to develope something as strong as love, and in my oppinion, they both knew or felt that. It ended more with the fact that they could support each other, and could be there for each other in the last moment, which shows a deep connection.

Thank you for sharing your indepht thoughts. I agree - the main thing about Cassian is his inner conflict. For me that's exactly what makes him such a brilliant character. Through him the story shows the brokenness that war leaves behind. I remember in the very beginning of the book when he was ordered to kill Jyn's father and his thought to himself "How can I do this to her". And in that point of the story she was no one to him, just another stranger. War demanded from his not just his strength and life, but also his conscience, his very soul. It turned him into the very think he was fighting against. But after all it was exactly his conscience, the freedom of his mind and will, that kept the inkling of the human being in him. It's because of that, no matter what his actions of words said, he always saw the awful reality of he was doing. I think people don't realize what an enormous thing it was for him to disobey the Rebellion and to support Jyn. The Rebellion was all his life, all his's even known, all his's done, all he's ever lived for. This is what makes him a hero for me. Not what he was fighting for, but what he sacrifice to do so. And more then anything his ability to keep the freedom of his mind and will. The conscience and the enormous bravery to see through what he was taught all his life. And about his relationship with Jyn - my favorite part about it is that it didn't claim to be an iternal love. Yes, they were obviously drown to each other, and the attraction between them was palpable both in the movie and in the book. But they never claimed to be "oh, all my life is about you now and you are my everything" (barf). There was this wonderful quote from the book, that sums it up- "He didn't known her. There wasn't the time." That feeling made the story so real and logical for the way two people with treir background will feel. And it also made the relationship even more tragic. Because this way it was about what it might of been. It could have blossom into a beautiful, iternal live, which to mend their broken souls. But there wasn't the time. But war fed itself with their time. They couldn't possibly offer each other eternity. Instant they give each other what they needed in their now. She was his redemption. And he was the only person in her life, who didn't leave her. They learned to understand each other. They realize that they were so similar, because they were both children of war. They were the two faces of the same coin. Jyn was what he would have been if he didn't joined the Rebellion. And Cassian was what she would have become if Saw hadn't abandoned her. And when they saw through each other differently, the become partners. Instead of eternity they gave each other the things they needed, the thing they never had before - home.
