A user named sindexmon managed to find the uploader of the privated reaction, and so Mahvl contacted him with hopes of potentially getting the video. And guess what, we did! I swear, I've been trying to hunt down a specific screamer video that really got me as a kid. Chances are that it's lost to time but I remember it so vividly. It was an easter egg tutorial for Call Of Duty Zombie on the map Der Riese. After looking into a sniper scope into the distance, Reagan from The Exorcist jumpscares the viewer. Gave me a heartattack!

I’ll never forget watching this. I used to spend so much time watching “Mario 64 cheat” videos which was just GameShark codes or emulator codes and trying to unlock Luigi as a kid. This video was the first screamer I ever saw and absolutely terrified me to the point of falling out of the chair at my aunts computer. Truly hope it’s found to relive it.

Something about hearing a lost media still remaining lost is both sad, and yet fascinating. I always had this expectation that anything can be archived, even if only 1 person has whatever video people are finding saved. So to end up finding out that that’s not always the case is interesting. I’ve always found this case interesting, it had so much coverage, and yet there still hasn’t been any reuploads despite this specific video being watched a decent amount of times. My case of KZbin lost media has some sort of answer I was looking for, but like this, there isn’t any reupload. I’m sure most know who scaretheater is, his second channel being owler, etc, however what many don’t know is that originally that channel was once called, “ECWGaming,” this was back when I would watch creepypasta videos and a few years ago, I was trying to find a creepypasta series that was dedicated to one of them (Casey’s cave), only to find out they are gone, however most of the people in the original creepy pasta narration video (made by TheBrotherMachado) also remember this series as well. The only evidence of this video existing is another person who only used snippets of it as a background, but it was only for a short while. Then of course it was found out that scaretheater was the owner of that channel, right before he would change the channel, however I’m not exactly sure if he has any of those videos archived (something tells me he likely does not), so just like the Mario screamer, it’s likely gone for good unless someone that has it saved finds out people are looking for it (which again I doubt). With that said, I’ve always found lost KZbin videos to be more interesting to me. Like despite being a big platform, some, if not many videos are usually gone, some are archived, but most of them are likely gone.

I really like this lost media case for how unique and interesting it is, since normally lost media hunts are for official media from already established parties. However, Super Mario 64 Big Star Secret is a fake tutorial video of SM64 made by some random KZbinr during KZbin's infancy, which sets it apart from other pieces of lost media, and I find that pretty cool.

Finding Lost Media seems so fun tbh, i'd love to be apart of something like that at some point- just searching for a thing that's been deleted but may still remain in the dark, dusty corners of the internet. Seeing how much information you can find on it and working with a whole group of other researchers and theorists. In this case, it must've felt like such an accomplishment to get the actual creator of the lost video to answer most of those questions you've been trying to find answers to for such a long time. An interesting detail you forgot to mention is that it's been confirmed that Database was the AudioSwap song featured in the video. The reason we know this is because on a KZbin reupload of the song, there is a comment from around 2011 saying that they got there from Big Star Secret. It's not Big Star Secret, but there's this other Mario 64 video I remember seeing possibly in 2010 or 2011, and haven't found it again in years. I don't remember its name, but it was telling you how to unlock Luigi via text commentary, and I recall the editing being more convincing than most other videos. Some of the steps included "Go to Lethal Lava Land, do NOT take damage or you must reset the game. Go into the volcano, dive into the lava waterfall at this exact spot" at which point the video froze for several seconds, before cutting to something. It was either Mario falling behind the mirror in the castle, or appearing in front of a Luigi painting. I have sadly forgotten the order of events. Once Luigi was unlocked, the player showed off his abilities which included a special triple jump that put him in a floating state, much like in the Mario 64 prototypes. The video ended on a black screen with text saying something like "This video was an elaborate hoax." That stuck with me because I had been taking actual notes, and had to ask my mom "What's a hoax?" Does this ring a bell for anybody? It's been bothering me for so long.

Alright guys, here’s the update you’ve all been waiting for. I’ve finally gotten to talk to my van driver again, and here’s what she told me: he does indeed remember the video. As far as him having the video goes, he’s not QUITE sure if he has it or not, but he did say that he’d check to see if he does. He’s also going to be contacting some of his friends (who are also into the same things as he is) to see if they know anything as well, as well as doing some more digging into the subject in general. So yeah, the guy is starting to go on his own small hunt for the video, so that’s nice. His girlfriend’s apparently helping out as well. We obviously don’t have concrete confirmation just yet that he has it or not, but considering the fact that he both recognizes the video and thinks that either he or one of his friends has it and is currently looking for it is a good sign imo. Even if this guy doesn’t have it, maybe one of his friends does. We’re not quite there yet, but I feel like pretty good progress has been made with this lead (plus, the new year has literally JUST started, there’s more than enough time for a miracle to happen lol). Oh yeah and she told me that he really liked my letter, so that’s cool :)

@@PigPigGamer Small update: My van driver had a phone call with the guy earlier today, and he apparently said that he has searched for it, but hasn't found anything so far. He's still reaching out to some of his friends, some have said that they didn't have it and he's still waiting for a response from a few of them. The guy didn't explicitly say he didn't have it though, so we haven't lost hope completely.

There's also the fact that the guy's friends have other friends that they can ask as well, so we kind of have a complex web of people that could have the video. Still sucks that the main guy didn't have it, though.
