I have the theory that Luka and Kagami have talked before in all that times they were left alone but we never saw it because that wasn't the focus, that's why they talk so openly and work well together in this episode, because they've already talked and they've been through the same things and want to solve the problem, this would also explain what happened in the Optigami episode where Luka and Kagami entered the event together and sat together, and the group they went to was made up of couples and two friends, so we feel like they are "left over" since we never saw them talk so we don't see them as friends like the rest of the group, but they've already talked and that's why they feel comfortable going through the event together and sitting together without pressure.

Nathalie also confuses me, I empathize with her, but then she does something that makes me mad at her again...should i want to see her be a good person or should i want her to be an actual villain? How was she supposed to make me feel?

I still would support him being fired or prosecuted for his abuses of power. The people of Paris deserve much better than him. But, he doesn't irritate me near as much as Chloe.

I personally loved this episode. Every episode of season 5 has been amazing! I threw a party when Adrien "I think I'm in love". Seems like Chloe is more of a mayor than Andre because he just does whatever his daughter tells her. What kind of parent is that?

I agree with what you've been saying. At first I thought that Adrien was blind because he hasn't acknowledged what has been right in front of him all this time. But when your life is filled with different types of love and have never had much experience with love or had much of a life to begin with so it is natural for him to not realize these things. I thought that she was upset about falling in love with Cat noir for the same reason that she is pushing away her feelings for Adrien which is probably true but it could also be because of Cat Blanc. In the episode she didn't show any indication that she was paying any attention to what Cat Blanc was saying but how could she not. She's afraid of what their love could lead to. She's been through so much that she's afraid to love at all but she can't control that. Love can't be killed so sooner or later she's going to have to face her feelings.

Something else that really intrigues me is the fact that since Ladybug remembers what happened in Chat Blanc, she remembers that he knew her identity. So I can’t even imagine what must be going through her head after finding out that Chat Noir likes her as Marinette in Elation (or at least assumes so from the way he responded). I’m really hoping the writers will implement this as the show moves forward. There’s so much potential ahhh

Awesome vid as always 👏 Also I've noticed that Mari fell for Adrien and cat noir in the same way low-key: In season 1 origins Mari use to dislike Adrien for reason you should already know, until the umbrella scene. She saw his vulnerable side, the kindness he showed to to made her fall instantly. As for chat, she found him quite cocky and too flirty( and honestly he was) but in glaciator, she discovered his sensitive side and even said " maybe I was wrong about him", and as seasons go on her feeling subtily progressed.

I don't think it is weird that she gave Kagami a ride; I think it is great. I agree about the taking the helmet off thing, though. I was very disappointed with the animation of her hair as well. The animators had to know how critical it was to get that scene right and they blew it. On the other hand, script convenience never bothers me. The writers have a very limited time to convey a lot of different things. Sometimes it is ok to take liberties for a great scene. If only they had spent the extra money to do that scene justice.

So far there has not been a bad episode in season 5 and determination is no exception to that it was a great episode I loved all of the Arienette moments and how it hinted about Luka and Kagami possibly coming together but the events of this episode only make me more interested to watch the Kwami's choice because I suspect in that episode Marinette will finally accept the fact, she has feelings for Adrien. Does anyone have a release date for the Kwami's choice?

I would probably agree with you that Adrienette would be the most likely to happen first since that would potentially not draw as much publicity towards them as a LadyNoir relationship since cameras would flock to LadyNoir if they were to catch them on a date which would make even having the relationship nearly impossible. I cant wait to see how it all develops from here (I say as I get ready to watch episode 7 to catch up on what has aired on Disney US)

Great video! I really like this episode, and I'm still laughing about the fact that Adrien said his feelings started changing in Puppeteer 2! I have to resist the opportunity to gloat every time people mention that they were surprised that Adrien fell in love during the statue scene. 'Puppeteer 2' has always been one of my absolute favorite episodes of MLB and it always made me wonder why Adrien let the statue scene go on for as long as he did. He should have stopped it way earlier. People should bow down before the supremacy of 'Puppeteer 2'. mwuhahaha. (Oh well, I suppose I couldn't resist the temptation for ever.)

Thanks for another wonderful analysis. I always look forward to your videos. I have some random comments and questions, though. Did you see the English dub of this or are you choosing to ignore the CAT..tastrophe pun that replaces the 'disaster' in the French dub. I am not quite certain how to feel about that change. I agree strongly about what you said about Chloe being irritating. That has always been the case for me. There are whole episodes that are very hard for me to watch because it has too much Chloe in it. 'Despair bear' is a prime example. It has all of these wonderful Adrinette scenes (and the Chlonette kiss scene is hilarious), but Chloe being Chloe makes it hard for me to get to those scenes. I can understand the writers having a Chloe type character since they exist in real life and in real life children have to deal with them. But the writers give her way too much screen time and treat her like a main character when she is way too small of a character to pull that off. I love the fact that you are taking on people who said that Adrien was blind. Great work. I agree with Adrinette being the first side to sail, for the reasons you mention. (Adrien has finally decided to try to woo Marinette and she is not going to be able to resist for very long). The only caveat is that Marinette/Ladybug turned out to be much better at trying to woo Chat Noir than I would have expected in for example 'glaciator 3'... I mean 'elation'. Who would have thought that the main thing holding both Marichat and Ladynoir was Chat Noir moving on and not Maribug being able to express her feelings well. Tikki really needs to admit she was wrong when she said that Marinette will never get anywhere because she can't do anything other than make ridiculous plans and gifts. With Chat Noir she really went all in.

I loved this episode; the Adrienette and Ladynoir moments were incredible, and they were moments that both Adrien and Marinette needed to realize their feelings. I especially enjoyed what you mentioned about people loving Adrien. Still, it's only the image and act that he puts on for his father's sh***y fashion brand to sell clothes because we saw in Elation how entitled fans, especially Wayhem want his attention, his autograph, and a selfie with him. After all, Adrien is their AI assistant on the Alliance rings, which is disgusting. This is why he gravitates towards Marinette; she is someone he feels safe with and actually hears and knows him as a person. Side note: I honestly wouldn't be surprised if sometime in the series (I know probably not, but one could only imagine) Chloe gets slapped in the face to get her to shut up and yell at her face about what she's done and why Ladybug didn't give her the Bee Miraculous and all the mistakes, etc. to finally to get her to shut up (one could hope).

I'm so into this kind of analysis, so thank you for this amazing video! I vote for adrinette, 100%. We were havily hinted in Elation that neither Marichat nor Ladrien is possible for reasons of security and honour (or respect towards the unmasked half of the couple). Ladynoir is now a friend zone too (however, I would like to see what Cat noir does once he learns that his Lady fell in love with him - he still doesn't realize it and she never told him directly). It could kind of worked better, but it still would not be completely satisfying. Adrinette of this season is the most promising and interesting side of the square, not without problems, but with a huge potential. Other three are at the impass as of now. However, they may too seep through here and there and bring perturbations to the feelings of our babies. And I've got a question after watching Determination, maybe someone knows: on the roof after the battle Cat Noir says to Ladybug that thanks to her he finally realized his true feelings. What exactly did Ladybug in this episode that helped him sort out his feelings? I'm sure it's about this episode, because at the beginning of it he was confused, and now he says it's clear now. A great episode, I laughed so much at Adrien's stuttering and Marinette's antics, they are really alike, like Luka said. And hmm... does the end card showing Kagami and Luka back to back on the circle mean anything? Does it hint at anything or it's just to tease us?

I won’t lie, I kind of wish the love square dissolved earlier on in season 4 because her feelings for Adrien did affect her actions that led up to Miracle Queen (IE Marinette letting Queen Bee come back, leading Gabriel to Master Fu) but in Risk/Strike Back it wasn’t her feelings that caused the Miraculous to be taken; I mean how was she suppose to know Félix was back, and only gave “Adrien” the Miraculous was because he didn’t have a Risk mark, which makes sense. It feels like it should have been more an Adrien turning point in the finale than Marinette. I may like the potential of Chloé as a character for Fanfiction, but I do agree she honestly holds nothing to the story, especially now that it’s becoming more story-driven. Either have her grow as a character and have a role, like be one of the agents for Gabriel, or just write her off the show and give other characters (*ahem* Lila *ahem*). I do agree that she should have been written off the show, like have her sent off to boarding school or military school. Finally get the discipline and reality check her parents and teachers never gave her. Have the show take the aftermath of Miracle Queen seriously, besides actually taking the fact that the heroes’ identities were revealed to Gabriel more seriously. As for the episode itself, I think the only thing I didn’t like was how the narrative is trying to say Adrien’s feelings came because of the wax scene in Puppeteer 2, which…yeah no, that feels too cringe in my opinion. Though it would have been funny if Adrien actually said it was the wax statue that made him fall for her, but it’s a cover-up because he actually fell for her as Cat Noir but you know he can’t say that.
