What I find ridiculous is that these supposedly ‘grown’ men (Logan Paul is 29 and KSI is 31) have reacted to DanTDM’s tweet with playground bully tactics. One tweet that got under their skin and they immediately resort to mocking voices and “No, you.” It’s becoming increasingly clear that their brains stopped developing at around age 16 because that’s how immature they act. They might be charismatic and have lots of money, but that doesn’t make them nice people.

Hi, someone who worked in the food industry here. People can't take them to court over not liking the product. However if someone is harmed or made ill due to their product they can. The fine print is them illuminating that risk of getting in trouble with that. However they can't do this and they will soon realise that if someone does become ill due to this "product" people will take them straight into court

As a bit of an aside, I’ve had some experience with food and lawsuits, though not *directly* related here, and not regarding language on a label; but I was permanently harmed by a tainted milk problem as a small child. AFAIR, there was a class action lawsuit, but we had a personal lawsuit because of my specific reaction from the salmonella causing lifelong damage. And unfortunately we lost because the court didn’t agree with the medical expert and my (internationally respected) personal rheumatologist that it was proven the increased aggression and expansion of of the JRA I had wouldn’t have without the salmonella, which, being so young, was also just extremely extremely severe. We argued it had been triggered by the salmonella in a very specific way. I think with advanced science, today we’d win that case, but there wasn’t just enough evidence to 100% prove the connection back then. The whole thing was a disaster that I still suffer from today. It changed the entire trajectory of my life. (I’m naturally still miffed about that.) But back on topic, putting some powerful-sounding words on a box CAN discourage the average person from seeking legal avenues even over legitimate food safety issues. It’s just a shortcut, it doesn’t have to be legally standing. Just like sneaky contracts and liability waivers. The average person often won’t know what can and can’t be legally enforced, so they could sit feeling stuck under terms that they think bind them but that actually can’t and don’t. Lawyers can absolutely be fine with whatever can discourage folks from taking action, even if they 100% can. It’s not a crime to put such wording on a box, as far as I know, just not legally legitimate. Unfortunately it often costs a lot of time and especially money to get any justice in the US. Especially from much wealthier corporations with deep pockets for lawyers ready to wear you down and wipe you out.

I feel like most people are uncaring that they made an unhealthy product and are more critical of the deceptive marketing but for me, I do think we need a conversation about ultra processed foods and in particular, with these specific three, using their influence to market UPFs directly to children. A chocolate bar that is no longer "healthier" than its competitors with its new formula, a "sports drink" that doesnt actually hydrate you and now a "healthy alternative" to lunchables but its still a UPF. There needs to be responsibility. Sure parents are part of the equation but children do have access to money and shops. And influencers do that influencing. Mr beast bragged about bringing new customers into the market. They are aware of their impact. These are not innocent little endeavors; there is a real impact on children's health.

I don't think the "no sue clause" works. 1 it's on the website so you won't see it if you buy the product normally. Unless they include it with every pack. 2 you can't have clause that stop legal action, to my knowledge. Ik its an arbitration clause, but alot of things can't be handled with arbitration 3 who tf makes a terms of service form a lunch kit? Have tos for lunch (if you can even call it that) should be a red flag for anyone

Lunchables are sold for a couple quid, whereas knowing their business strategy, I wouldn't be surprised if lunchly gets sold for 5x the price. lunchly doesnt even look filling, so kids are probably going to even buy multiple packs just for lunch

Let’s all remember that “better than Lunchables” is about as low as the bar can get, and neither lunch kit has a significant amount of fruit or vegetables. I know school lunches have a bad reputation, but my kids’ public school lunches at least have all the food groups available and decent portion sizes.

The main issue that everyone is not most likely but will agree that yeah it makes sense. Is how they marketed it, how they have kinda reacted to it getting hate, who is producing it and just because its been way too over the top. I get like what they tried to do. But they sent it off awfully and kept pushing themselves down with it. However I just see it for what it is a cash grab something that no one will care about later so yeah.

These are grown ass men who can’t even take an ounce of criticism. It’s incredibly sad. I think Cam nailed it on the head with “if you’re happy with a product you’ve made, you wouldn’t feel the need to defend it as much as this”. I think it’s also to do with the fact neither of these guys have any food and safety backgrounds so of course they’re getting backlash for acting like they know what they’re doing. The scandals, controversies and lawsuits also add to this - “why should I believe you when your whole image is a sham?” The reason why Dan’s review of a monthly subscription candy box is different is because it was just that, A REVIEW. It wasn’t his product he was merely being a taste tester for it and never claimed it to be healthy for kids. As for the other KZbinrs who made “healthier” candies like Joyride, whilst I agree there is definitely some hypocrisy with calling out Logan, KSI and MrBeast, these individuals aren’t known to be money-hungry con artists who use exaggeration and scandals to boost their publicity.
