We fished last March and the Machuka “dry fly” fishing was amazing. Loved it, very unique but they fight hard. Love the howlers creating the hatch for us

How big do these fish get ?

We have caught them up to about 7 lbs but when allowed time to grow they get much bigger than that.

@@simonsmith8966 Unfortunately because these fish are super strong and typically live in rivers with a good amount of current and structure, a 5wt is a bit too light. A 5lb fish would easily take you into rocks or logs with a 5wt. Typically we fish 8wts with floating line and shooting heads.
