What a perfect way to start out the new year!! Thank you so much for reviewing this very cool movie! I saw Beverly Washburn last summer at the Monster Bash Conference. She had many interesting and positive things to say about the making of this film and the rest of the cast. I met her briefly and she is such a delightful lady. You are correct in saying that both Washburn and Jill Banner play their roles with a perfect balance of innocence and the threat of menace. And Lon Chaney is truly in peak form in this movie, as are the other actors. The movie is great fun to watch again and again. However, as someone with a deadly aversion to spiders, the scene where the little monsters come crawling toward Quinn Redeker is NOT easy to watch!! Happy New Year!!!!

I despise bugs myself so I hear you Mike. ha ha, But the fact that neither of us care for bugs or more specifically spiders in your case, says a lot - because we can still make it through this film just fine. That's awesome that you were able to meet Beverly Washburn at the Monster Bash Conference! Also glad to hear she had a positive experience shooting this film. Thanks for checking in my friend! Always a pleasure. Happy New Year!

I've never seen this in its entirety, but now I know I need to, if not just to see that scene where Chaney talks about the full moon. Hard to imagine that 30 years before he was starring in "Of Mice & Men" on Broadway. RIP Quinn Redeker. I met him at a 3 Stooges convention about 15 years ago and he was super nice and friendly. I think he should have been a much bigger star. Looking forward to many more videos in 2024! Have a good one!

Hey that is awesome you were able to meet Quinn Redeker! He was so good in this! I went mostly spoiler-free this time, so if you get a chance to check out 'Spider Baby' again, there's actually so much more to the film. Thanks for checking in Betamax. Be well!

Oh man. Spider Baby. The Big Dollhouse. Sorceress. Right in my wheelhouse there. This is a great, unique film that even still doesn't get enough attention. So kudos for choosing to spotlight it. I was first exposed to this one on the Horrible Horror VHS tape back in the 80s. It showed the Mantan Moreland scene and I had never seen anything quite like it before. This was a bit different, but I think fits in really well with your channel.

Ha ha, no doubt, I thought of you when those Jack Hill flicks crossed my path! I read there was some pretty rough VHS tapes back in the day. Glad they finally recovered a better version, there's a nice Blu-ray of this I'll have to track down. I'm a little late to the party on this one, but it really grabbed me. You know something is special when it just inspires you to go ahead and make a vid about it. Thanks Rob! Be well man!

Happy New Year, Anthony! Hope you and yours had a great holiday season, and that 2024 becomes the breakout year for this channel. Anyways, the review of this reel in the attic is so good, it makes the movie seem intriguing to me! Not that I'm ever really gonna watch it (you know I hate scary movies 😮) but you have watched it so I don't have to! Now where else have I seen the male horror lead? Was he Riff-raff in Rocky Horror? Just don't know.

Hi Marie! Very Happy New Year to you as well, always a pleasure. The fireworks were going off here in New York for some time ha ha. I hope you and yours had a great holiday season as well!
