Nuance..this is just a fragment of the larger or narrower paradigms that come with this kind of thinking/being. Yes there are some with same thoughts and even this on a general level is only done by the minority of people..or reached.There are levels to this shit. People like to assume most people are this way for own comfort, and if you dont you are pushed in the 'arrogant' corner. Which is ridiculous since it is a lonely place if you are on a certain level of consciousness/intelligence and especially with no outlet or being restricted at the same time due to whatever. (illness, barriers, underprivileged etc) Also I agree with Arnold. And to me just knowing how few people even seen Synecdoche and those that truly love it with sincerity and not for trying to be 'cool' or look smart (which fails) ie a small fragment of the (western) world, says something. Of course in combination of meeting and talking to people my whole life.. There are levels in life..in all sorts of things. And the truly sincere, the intelligent, the truly sensitive..are a small minority in a world filled with scared sheep.

I went through this between ages 25 and 27. I called it my "mirror phase" because I spent hours confronting myself via an actual mirror. I guess all those years growing up watching"The Neverending Story" planted a seed... looking at you Oracle #2. I can't explain the visceral struggle of looking into your own eyes for long periods of time. It was almost always hard and always work so if you try this be prepared and I encourage baby steps. I confronted much and defined much of who i am today however.... if we're honest with ourselves life demands that this type of work be revisited as the journey continues. I again find myself in need of this work but this time my shadow is almost completely in check so I'm excited to see what I see. I have lost my way in some respects though and this is why I'm returning to the mirror. I'm trying to walk with the sage, conquer ego death, however you want to phrase it but doing that while not getting bogged down by the responsibilities in this world can be tricky. Good luck and good health to you all. Thank you for this video. You gave me an idea to try something in a group setting involving sharing hard truth with others. I've done this and it's frightening but it really is freeing especially if the others understand and accept you..... no promises there though. Live a life of peace and love forevermore....

"share ourself with complete vulnerability and authenticity." That is what you call being honest. Telling the truth, your truth, in the face of even the worst of circumstances. This does not mean to self doubt in the face of what others think. That's an illusion. It also doesn't mean that your truth must always be right. That's your ego. It just means that no matter the consequence. You are willing to be exactly what you are. Good and bad, right or wrong. Honesty, is the key that opens the door to fulfillment. Don't get me wrong. It's not easy being honest. But, if you stay true. You'll find people who appreciate that in you, and the people who don't will dissolve away.

Have people ever told you you're the "nice one"? Or even describe you as something like smart, funny, confident (the funny one, the smart one) etc.? Most people think I'm nice, but the more they say it the more it feels like a poor act. I dont really know if I'm being sincere honestly, sometimes I get tired of being this way, but it's what I'm known for and I feel like people like me the way I am. Idk honestly why people assume I'm nice even when they dont really know me or when I've never done an act of kindness for them ever, just being polite and smiling seems to make everyone jump to conclusions I guess. I think it's so true that everyone seems to be defined or simplified by character traits. And when they act "out of character" people think its wierd, or unlikable, but sometimes cool

Almost every other video on this channel, as much as it resonated with me, has only sent me spiraling further down a seemingly endless existencial crisis. This to the point where I have fantasized about receiving a lobotomy so that I can live only to be but not to think, as irrational as that is especially in face of the fears I am facing. This was the first video that felt like a well needed break. This is an amazing channel either way. Having your way of thinking challeneged, giving a face to your fears which makes it all the more intimidating, but also allows you to understand what you are up against. I dream of a world where humans can learn to coexist and accept each other for their shortcomings, and where crime fighting is not about punishing people deemed too evil for this world, but solely focused on keeping vulnerable individuals safe from harm. Where we do not see other peoples failings as a reason to gloat and declare ourselves better, but where we whileheartedly accept the ineptitude of mankind, and realize that the only reason we may have managed to make better choices, was because we were granted the right tools, whether internal or external.

This was a great video! I disagree with most of it. I don't hold to there BEING a true self. We can't even make bold claims like, "We're in a constant state of change" because sometimes, we're NOT changing. Sometimes changing, sometimes not. Sometimes true, sometimes not. There isn't really any 'one' true self. Just the self of the moment. I think the larger implications behind the question "who am I?" have gotten in the way of asking "Why is it important to know who I am?" And I don't know that it is important, personally.

@rastykatze5 жыл бұрын
@@pithikoulis Everyone got believes. You're not able to live without them. Your belief seems to be that people who believe and trust others do so out of stupidity. Or you simply belief is, that trolling on the internet will make you feel better, which in fact it may for a short time. But every now and then you'll get an answer that will annoy you so much, that you'll feel the urge to post yet another troll comment. Can't wait to hear it :)

@@rastykatze believing is for stupid people.. it's a fact - since its only prerequisite is to take something for granted without evidence. And all these people preaching such quotes, sound to me like the same people who preach the bible. And that's what I have an issue with.. I want people to use their brains and not use vague quotes that don't mean anything concrete.

The identification with the body-mind and, of course, personality will keep us trapped in a suffering place. Thats why great schools of thought like Advaita ( related to Hinduism) has a deep understanding of the methaphysical world of the I-ness and the way to overcome the idea of being something like a person or a body, or something limited by fear and desire. In the core the idea of being a person is just created by the mind and its illusory, all pain is an illusion.

From what I’ve gleaned from the comments, we all pretty much feel out of place, out of sorts, out of our minds at various times and places. This alone should be enough to bring us closer. Lets try to do that.

Took me weed to see this clearly, glad it's a perception i've realised even if only for drugs, it feels like it addresses the anxiety I have about problems I have no control over. No matter what action I take it doesn't always work out, I can only share the parts of me that I love to see in the world rather than the parts I hate to see.

I agree completely, but it is an indicator of how much time you’ve had to grasp an understanding of life. Im 17 and a lot of the ideas and topics this channel covers are constantly rattling around my skull. Although I would like to I just feel I don’t have the intellect and understanding to write a script or paper on these subjects. He sounds about the age of a peer of mine. I think young bright minds are deserving of recognition.

How to make time travel a good idea 1. Invent time machine. 2. Travel to the 23rd century. 3. Invent a device that can change the odds in the 23rd century. 4. Use probability device to make the odds certain that time travel is a good idea.

Watching my first of your, this video anyway, and it touched me quite profoundly. I'm a 63 years alive man, a self-taught composer who has always been hesitant about allowing others to hear my music. Being bi-polar along with ADD hasn't helped. I will sub your channel because I have a good feeling about it. Also, I think it's very important for KZbinrs to share the videos they watch. We are simply a part of nature which is at a point of self reflection. And sadly it is an isolating aspect of our existence. However the fact that we all share in this has a redemptive quality that our lives allow us to document for others across time and space. It’s a bizarre and beautiful quirk created by nature and drives us to create our own interpretation of our own nature. 🦋

First off I love all of your videos. Thank you for doing what you do. But this really makes sense to me. I recently within the last year or so decided to start making music and uploading it to the internet. Didn’t really know why. All I know is that when I’m writing and uploading it feels like I’m screaming at the top of my lungs the most inner thoughts and feelings inside of me, and when I turn the computer off and go to bed it’s super silent. I really wish more people would share their genuine thoughts, perspectives and hardships with each other.

I consider my writings to be more than just the stories I tell, but an extension of myself. Yes, these characters and situations and worlds are fictitious but the way these characters act and react to these situations are always paralleled in reality. But beyond that, my stories have a message to them, something I wish for my reader to take from it. Oftentimes, it’s the concept of empathy towards others, of the effects prejudice has on people on both sides of the fence but overall, it’s that bad things happen to both good and bad people but no matter what, you must always get up and get moving. What I do, what I write, is a love letter to myself, my own personal motivational speech. A reminder. To myself and to the world.
