When I was a kid, I admired the precision of his work as much as the wonder of the illusions themselves. I took away so much from the way he and his team choreographed Heaven On The 7th Floor so that the doors opened on the beat, and his silhouette appeared at the exact moment the intensity of the song increased. Stunning, stunning, stunning attention to detail that’s inspired me to this day.

This is one of my favorite specials David did. One of the great starts of any magic show is "Heaven on the Seventh Floor". Yes it was first done by Doug Henning, but David performed it fifteen feet above the stage and can find great music to set the mood. Its sad that David no longer does anymore specials on CBS, but with the shows that give away the secrets, ruined the aww and wonder of it. Also "Grand Illusion" magic is gone. David is a great part of the 80/90's that is hard to duplicate.

And when he performed in NYC for his extended "Dreams and Nightmares" run, I got to see him live twice. Flying was as amazing live as I could have imagined it would be.
