Wow this was way too magical lol... at the end when he was looking at his "younger self" I almost dropped a tear as I felt the child inside me, the presence of my younger self in me and I gave that child a big fat hug telling him that i'm here now (present me) and everything will be taken care of... how I always wished I could go back in time when I was at my weakest and just give myself a good hug

Know what you mean. Hell I was 25 then and I was and still get freaked out. I've seen him twice, both times were this performance in '96 & 97 with my Mom & my best friend Christine Carol. At one point towards the end of the show when David confronts the ghosts, my mom was cutting off the circulation to my arm, She admits shes a chicken. LOL And as much as I love the big illusions, my favorite illusion/trick he does here. At 22:05 he begins a card trick w/ the 4 Aces, taught to him by his grandfather. I never knew either of my Grandfathers and felt I got royally hosed. My mom's father passed two months before I was born and Mom always said he picked me out for her. I don't know about that, and figure if that's the case he made a mistake. Well everytime I see Copperfield perform the card trick I get choked up & teary eyed.

I remember seeing David Copperfield perform in a theatre at Costa Mesa California. I saw him perform most of the illusions in this special...save for the Fan illusion. I recall him doing the sawed in half illusion but the saw was circular. The ghost act I can recall pretty well. The one with the Ace appearance trick I also saw him perform. The snow illusion was one of my favorite tricks. It was great. I know that it was a couple of years after this special aired that I saw him perform.

The Barclay House segment back in the day freaked me out. I mean yes, it was magic, but you get a 10-yr old watching that as I was and you lose sleep that night thinking spirits are among us. Now, at nearly 35 yrs old, it still freaks me out but I have a greater appreciation for how he pulled this off. An amazing illusionist, magician, and storyteller in one. It's mathematical If you chose 1 (o-n-e / 3 Letters) you will get to number 3 (t-h-r-e-e / 5 Letters) then you will get to number 8 (e-i-g-h-t / 5 Letters) then you till get to number 1 (o-n-e / 3 Letters) He will remove 2, 4 and 8, so you must skip 2 and 4 and will get to number 6 instead of 4. 3+5+5+3=16 Which number you chose, you will get the same amount. Example = 4 (4 letters) => 4 (4 letters) => 8 (5 letters) => 1 (3 letters + 2 Number remove) => 6 again 4+4+5+3=16 It's too easy!

If you always remove the 2, 4, 8 and 12, you will always end up on the 6 after the final count. For instance, if your original number is 1, you spell (one) which lands you on the number 3. Then you spell (three) which land you on the number 8. Then you spell (eight) which lands you on the number 1. No matter which number you choose as your starting number to spell, you will always land on the number 1 prior to the 2,4,8 and 12 being removed after which you spell (one), you will always land on the number 6. There is nothing at all mystical about this Copperfield trick except your being seen to touch your screen. You really shouldn't do that. You can take my word for that. I promise! Don't ever touch your screen to play along with a magician's instructions to do otherwise. If you don't believe me, then just do as you please. I can't stop you. Have a good life.
