Not only was Revis not DPOY neither was Saints safety Darren Sharper. Prior to him being a convicted rap3ist this season was equivalent to Ed Reed's 2004 DPOY except Sharper broke Reed's Int single season return yardage. Saints went on to win Superbowl 44 this season. But when I went back and looked at the season Woodson had I understood. He had picks, forced fumbles, sacks and TDs.

I was nine years old at the time and while I watched football, I didn't pay too much attention on it but now that I'm older I sometimes think back to that season and the Jets almost in the Super Bowl is MIND BOGGLING, I have to make sure it wasn't a fever dream lol. People forget how good that defense was, comparing 2022 to the Rex Ryan defense, meaning 2009-2010. And what we have right now is good, but if the 2009 Jets defense making them into contenders in every game not quarterbacked by Peyton Manning doesn't pop out at you, you probably don't remember it clearly.

Shonn Greene getting hurt against the Colts has always stuck out. The offense was doing fine until then, and after that it completely died. Also I’ve always wondered if they could’ve kept Favre how this team would’ve looked.

oddly enough, the first half in the AFC championship game was one the best halfs the Jets offense had that whole season. and I've also pondered that! Brett Favre had one of his best seasons with the Vikings in 2009, certainly one of his most efficient passing seasons, he cut his interceptions down mightily. but lets be real, if Brett was our QB in 09, we still would've lost in the AFC championship game but in OT after a devastating Brett Farve interception.

Too me the Play of the game was late in the second half when the Jets were up 17-6 Manning throws a deep pass to Dallas Clark and I can't remember if it was Drew Coleman or Dwight Lowery who went for the pick instead of just batting it away... It ended up being a huge gain and indy for a big TD right before the half. If the Defender knocks it away they go into half up 17-9 at the worst with the Jets getting the ball after half. The TD gave the Indy fans life and the colts momentum going into half.

@@m42679 yeah on that drive Austin Collie had 3 catches for 80 yards and a TD all on 3 consecutive plays. It is painful even now to watch the highlights from that game. Like I said in the video, the colts were just too good and it was a miracle the jets even made it that far.

Absolutely! That final regular season game against the Packers, when the dolphins pats score was announced at the stadium, the whole crowd erupted. I'll never forget that feeling. Nothing was stopping the Jets the night. The perfect cap to a miserable start of the year

I remember that Chargers-Jets game. We all met up at our local sports bar to watch. After the first Chargers touchdown, we ordered victory shots for the table. A girl I was sort of seeing took a small sip of hers and set her shot glass down. We looked at her and we’re like “hey, you didn’t finish your shot”. She said she would take small sips until it was gone. I don’t know if anyone else got this feeling but I definitely felt like this would displease the football gods. Turns out it did. She never finished the whole shot and I stopped seeing her shortly after.

Great video. Would love a sequel, 2010 Jets. I don't blame Mark Sanchez to much that year, because he was a rookie. I think getting to the AFC Championship is pretty great. Rex Ryan shouldn't have been fired, they weren't able to get as much talent through the draft. The GM failed to replace the aging vets like Bart Scott or find a real QB.

2010 was def a better season but 2009 was more interesting to talk about in video essay form.
