What makes this sad is that Goody left the night before because he was haunted by his battles in the Civil War but then came back to aid his friends, only to be gunned down. He’s not just a legendary sharpshooter now; he’s now remembered as the hero he was claimed to be.
@lennyrumschlag2300 Жыл бұрын
This was my eye opening of movie as a kid. I realized that not all the good guys live happily ever after. And though I think it doesn't feel good to see someone you like die in the movie, I think it sends a sense of reality in it.

This movie is really great. I know it is a remake, and I know I have not seen the original, but I have heard it actually sticks pretty close to the original. I loved this movie and with each death of a character, big or small, I felt impacted. It was adventurous, funny, portrayed friendship, sacrifice, and I just really wish more people knew about it.
@thomasdoocey76077 жыл бұрын
I really liked this but the original is really cool too! lots of big name actors are in the original aswell as the knife vs gun scene being wayy cooler
@cyqry7 жыл бұрын
Just want to point out, the "original" isn't original either. Its a slight retelling of a similar story but with Ronin (masterless Samurai) fighting off bandits called "Seven Samurai". This version is actually insanely close to the original Samurai film too, its amazing how the same formula works so well.
@Mothman19927 жыл бұрын

Seven Samurai is a powerful trope, isn't it?
@CaptainFirespitter6 жыл бұрын
It’s such a small moment, but I just love it how that guy stands down the goon about to shoot Faraday, before actually going over to help him light his cigar. Obviously before it was revealed to be a ruse for his sacrifice! It’s just something that I honestly can’t help but replay over and over again. I don’t know how to describe it. Anyone else do the same, or at least understand what I’m saying? It’s definitely one of my favourite movies and scenes.
@boxcuber15996 жыл бұрын
Mr Peanut yeah my fav part such respect was shown and that is a honorable enemy
@CaptainFirespitter6 жыл бұрын
boxcuber it’s definitely one of my saved clips on KZbin. Just goes to show that, whenever it’s a small or large thing, whenever someone is fighting whatever side for one reason or another... Not every combatant is the same generic evil guy that they appear to be whenever they’re fighting against you or not. We’re all people. Everyone is different, with their own beliefs, philosophies and views on life. Sure, the eyepatch dude was fighting against our Heroes ( who were fighting for their own beliefs on what was right and wrong) but although it was such a small, tiny moment in a larger conflict, it showed the humanity, in one form or another, that is within not only him: But in all of us. As you said, the respect and the amount of honour that some, normally badass looking but ultimately faceless, henchmen showed is absolutely incredible. And it goes to show an awful lot about people when you really choose to think about it. And for that, and this scene, is such a brilliant illustration of that simple fact. An absolutely brilliant movie and such an incredible brief moment in this amazing scene. Sorry if it’s a bigger reply than you expected and I went off a little bit off on a tangent! 😅
@jkmac901 Жыл бұрын

Ya know, I've always wondered something in Western fight scenes like this: how do the people shooting from long distances know who're the good guys and who are the bad guys? Everybody's basically wearing the same clothes. It's not like a war battle, where you have two sides generally wearing different and distinguishing uniforms - both sides here are just wearing clothes. Wouldn't there be a lot of friendly fire?
@NickMcIntyre727 жыл бұрын
In this particular movie, I don't think Bogue gave too much of a shit, especially when he pulled out the Gatling gun. Yeah he hired an army, but more casualties means less cash he needs to draw out of his pocket. Also, plot.

The original emphasizes what it meant to be a cowboy and the significance of their mission to save the village when there was nothing in it for them. The action is toned down in comparison to this version. I definitely recommend it as its own movie. It won't feel like the same exact story.

The Magnificent Seven..... That's Yul Brynner ( Chris) * Steve McQueen ( Vin) * James Coburn ( Britt) * Charles Bronson ( O'Reilly) * Robert Vaughn ( Lee) * Brad Dexter ( Harry Luck) * and Horst Buchholz ( Chico)...... These are the Original Cast,... and no one can beat them..., and the Movie ! The Magnificent Seven from 1960 is an iconic, classic Western, that's played in a league with Top Westerns like The Searchers and Rio Bravo ( both with John Wayne), or Once Upon a Time in the West ( with Henry Fonda) and The Man from Laramie ( with James Stewart)..... The Remake from The Magnificent Seven hasn't the Charisma and the Power from the Original..... For me it's a Western.... Not more as a Western. Not a Remake. There can be only one....! The Magnificent Seven ( 1960).
