I liked your conclusion on God's grace. It reminded me of 1Peter 2,19 where grace is defined as the enduring unjust suffering (Youngs Literal Translation). And God's grace reigns through righteousness (Romans 5,20-21), so God is righteous when showing grace and thus enduring our unrighteousness so that we can turn back to him. God bless you, Thomas

John, I so appreciate this series on Apokatastasis. “Yet these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.” I am learning to think in a new way. I hope the same can be true of my husband, who gave up on Christianity as he knew it 15 years ago. So painful. He is gradually coming to understand Christ in a new way. He is so angry about being misled. This takes my fear for his soul away, for I can rest knowing a loving God will never give up on him…or me. I subscribed and thank you again.

You expressed what is on my heart concerning my husband as well. We can rest in Christ and in the resoration of all...and this gives us peace. ❤

I embrace Apokatastasis but then the Calvinists will say, yes God never gives up BUT only until deaths door. Then the sinner will have placed himself beyond God's reach. Question. Is hell the experience of facing the love of Christ and realising the folly of a life of having missed its meaning and purpose. Could this mean having taken God's name I AM in vain rather than blasphemy as we always think of it. Is this profound regret God's consuming fire that expresses the truth so so very very painful. The gnashing of teeth that Jesus spoke off? Any replies please! Shalom to one and all.❤️

@@LarryLarpwellThank you Larry indeed it does. And like you I am not scholarly but simply listening to my heart as I read my Bible. As Paul said in Corinthians 13 Faith Hope LOVE these three...but LOVE being God (1st John)most of all. Shalom dear brother.🤗

These are the very questions I have asked myself over and over. And how to fit together apokatastasis with the dreadful saying, “depart from me, I never knew you?” Through John’s teaching here I have begun to get some clarity and hope. Peace, dear friend.

@@thestraightroad305 Hello brother! Thanks for the comment! Yes many of Jesus's comments pose questions pertaining to what we today assume was post death as we know it. However as was pointed out by the likes of ex Protestant Pastor now Orthodox Brad Jerzak in his talks on a "More Christlike God...WORD and Way, Jesus was not so much speaking of an afterlife as that of the Kingdom of God in the present moment. We cannot deny that Christianity over the past 1500 years, has been about the next life to come and using fear of hell (wrongly translated from the Greek) to control the masses. An image of God that punishes us for ever for not believing in Jesus, installs a moralistic judgemental religion which does not bring a love induced transformation. Sadly in western society this has caught up with us during the last half century or so. Is there a turn around? I believe so called progressive ( a dirty word for conservatives) Christianity may help in correcting this in presenting a more loving and gracious God as shown by Jesus. Remember when Jesus was murdered by those who did not believe in who He was...said Father FORGIVE them for they know NOT what they do! Blessings and remember as in Psalm 42 let us continue to thirst for God who in fact is within us. (Galatians 1/16). That knowledge by a process of restoring integrity of our humanity with that of our divinity, our TRUE selves. ❤️
