What a great tune this is.. but it's a sad fact that songs such as this are lost to time and we will probably never see their like again. It's sad but I personally believe that music has been dying a death for the past twenty years or so. You only have to watch re-runs of TOTP to see this in action. Where once the episodes from the 70's..80's and even the 90's would guarantee me at least half a dozen decent songs, I now class myself as lucky if I can find a single song that keeps my finger away from the fast forward button.

Absolute classic, agree with all the previous comments. The wonderful era of the 80s when, despite all the political upheaval and the real threat of nuclear war, the inspiration people drew from these turbulent times produced the most amazing, creative, wonderful music so amazing and uplifting! Armageddon? Who cared? We had this fabulous musical era!

We were bringing our 2sons up , buying a house , a weeks holiday in Dawlish ,scratching around keeping our heads just above the waterline with the occasional gurgle but oh boy in some respects would swop a thousand times to be there now and not here now ,wife passed away ,families and 5 grandsons unable to visit because of lockdown 80,s music ,radio one ,top of the pops ,Heaven! this song always reminded me of some music coming out in the 60,s ie Graham Boney -hey super girl ,same sort of orchestration👍

i was 13 when this came out. I was into Gary Numan, Bowie, Psychedelic Furs and a few others. The absolute shit i got in our school yard for defending this song hahaha. You have to give Lol huge credit here, class class song.And yes those backing singers who apparently couldn't sing really justify their place in the band here, no doubt at all

@@Psychedelic_TimeTraveller86 Me too. Huge Genesis, Yes, Crimson, Floyd fan etc etc....but there was something about a lot of 80'spop music that simply worked. It's called melody. From Duran Duran to OMD to XTC, bands knew how to compose music, with strong melodies, well placed key changes and all manner of effective dynamics, missing in modern music in favour of slurred auto tuned vocals and predictable structures.

Yes very 60's sound and I see what you mean about that cameraman, he particularly liked getting those shots in mid 1980s, remember Chaka Khan - It's my night where he zoomed up there. My girlfriend at the time said how awful sorry for her, not that Chaka cared a hoot as she was one of the best singers of the 1980s.
