Been listening Ensiferum since 2007 or 06. Was a really dark time for me. I "illegally" downloaded a couple of songs without even knowing what Folk-metal or Viking-metal was about, but I was studying Nordic mythology at that time, and I saw they had a song called Väinämöinen, so I downloaded them and put it into my MP3 player. Went to the bus, thinking on give up on life and stuff...and suddenly "Token of Time" started to play. My fucking God!! Still remember the energy that song gave me. Till this day. The power, the fury, the need to overcome. Got off the bus, started to walk cause I had the need to clench my fists and start crying of joy. Felt my chest bigger. Felt air in my fucking lungs. Felt my heart pounding like crazy. Felt my veins warm. The magic is, I still feel the same fucking energy when I listen to a new Ensiferum song. Always, the same power, the same energy. The need to fight life and overcome. The need to walk fast and get things done. So I went and bought all the disks, dvd's, and now I'm buying digital copies. Ensiferum was, is and always will be my favorite band, forever. I know no one cares about this, but if you gave yourself time to read, thank you so much and have a great day \m/

See, I put the quotes so people like you don't give me cheap sermons about downloading music. I got my reasons and now I got money to buy everything, so spare me the lessons.

Awesome story. ;) I found the band back in 2004 months before I had to do our mandatory military service. I ended up on their webpage and they had some sample clips you could download. Downloaded them and had to get my hands on the albums(ensiferum, iron) any way possible. Downloaded them, then I bought all of them to this day and then some. For me it hit a major chord in a fairly difficult time and I've been a fan ever since. Seen them live a bunch of times!

ReSandman Very similar! The best band of the world, amirghit?? I have never see them live, tho. I live far from any major city. What's your favorite album or song??
@ReSandman7 жыл бұрын
If I had to choose one song and one song only it would have to be Treacherous Gods. The first album has always been my favorite. Still, choosing just one song or album is not that easy :) And yours?`

I know, it's hard but your answer was on point, cause mine is the same and Tales of Revenge. Surely, those two songs went through my walkman, my MP3 Player and all my different phones. Those two songs and Damien by Iced Earth have been always in my devices :)

Guys, you need to do more these. This gives you narrative and stuff. You should even try out some TV shit, I mean Finland is the Metal capital of the World...

Sami was saying that he didn't understand how Pete could go into the booth, scream his lungs and not lose his voice, but if HE tried to do that, he wouldn't be able to speak for weeks. I have a pro/con theory. The pro is just that. Pete has completely mastered the control over his voice because he's done harsh vocals for over a decade. The con is, he smokes, so his vocal chords are also fried which may help with such a harsh tone. That's my theory.

I absolutely disagree regarding the digital vs analog thing.. these days it is almost indistinguishable to tell. Having both high end digital and analog gear, i honestly can t tell the difference. Also being a huge fan of Ensiferum, I dont think the last record sounded different than the OMA or FA.
