You are the absolute best! Thank you so much for your videos. I watched you make the pattern and the basic twist front dress - and to my surprise - I was able to duplicate the pattern and I am currently in the process of sewing up the dress. Your videos are clear and easy to understand because you do what most people do not do - you talk through every step of what you are doing. I've found my mentor :-) Thanks again

Hello Susan, I appreciate your teaching. Your are wonderful. I tried this twist dress with the one you made with a blue scuba crepe fabric and it came out very good. Fabulous as ever Susanne! One question, how do you alter your basic block to make the twist? You look amazing in it! That's the way I usually finish knit necklines, because if I try to do a neckband, I always mess it up, but with the method you used here I manage to get a much neater neckline! You really are a true inspiration Susanne! Have a wonderful weekend, and, as usual, TFS 👍❤

This looks great Suzanne. Can I ask a quick question about finishing hems on stretch fabric? I know that on wovens you generally get a better finish by hand sewing the hem. But I see you and others machine sewing hens on stretch fabric. Does the machine give a better finish for stretch?
@SewCustom5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Eileen💕👍💕now you've got me thinking 🤔🤔🤔 I haven't researched any methods other than with the machine for stretch fabric🤔 I like the twin needle as a finish for most stretch garments👍 however I played around with stretch velvet at Christmas for some formal events and none of the garments ended up being wearable as I couldn't work out a way to finish them without the stitches being visible😩😩😩 I would love to find some failsafe techniques to finish dressier stretch garments🤔🤔🤔 maybe the only way is hand stitching 🤔🤔🤔 I'll have to look into that one more, if you come across anything in the meantime I would love to hear about it👍👍👍 thanks again Eileen and have a fab weekend 💕👍💕

How much inches did you leave between the spaces that you spread? I tried to make one but it turned out too big.
@SewCustom5 жыл бұрын
For the skirt and bodice 3/4inch which gave me a total spread of 3 3/4inches (on the fold) and for the waist piece 2.5inches which gave me a spread of 7.5inches, this worked well for me. I filmed the patterning which should, all being well, be up on my channel on Friday 👍👍👍
