All these years later and these old fuckers can still play. Elvin is a true legend, not to mention Charlie Musselwhite. I've been so fortunate to have enjoyed their music for nearly fifty years, and hopefully they keep rockin the blues for another fifty. I last saw Elvin at the Iron Mountain Music Festival in Mission city, beautiful British Columbia, the summer of 2018. Maybe it was the setting and circumstance, but Elvin and the Big Fun Trio seemed even better than when I first saw Elvin back in the seventies at the old Cave nightclub in Vancouver, B.C. Peace. Out.

The greatest male lead vocal performance in the history of NBC's rock concert show "The Midnight Special" was Mickey Thomas singing "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" in early 1977. Crazy fun fact, the song's writer and lead guitarist, Elvin Bishop, attended Tulsa, Oklhoma's Will Rogers High School at the same time as singers Anita Bryant, David Gates (Bread), and Leon Russell. Must have been something in the water!

used to bring a pint of Gordon's for Elvin every time we went to see him at the Golden Bear...the man would pop that thing as an intro to the song and shred! Butterfield and Musselwhite killed it too. We would close the show and surf the pier at 3AM drunk on Gordon's Gin...AGAIN? Wow, many moons. So happy these good ole boys are still making music together...long live overalls, F-CK YEA!:)
