Really nice cover!! What is the machine you use for the ticking sound of the beginning and of the main theme? Thanks!
@AndrewShawMusik3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! They were both done using Monark, a VST replication of a Minimoog. The click is just white noise with a lot of resonance on the filter and a very fast envelope. The main theme is just a pulse waveform from the minimoog.

Andrew Shaw So I assume you are the one who bought the Robovox that was on eBay a few years ago? These covers are amazing. Love the fact that you covered Tango, such an underrated gem. Are the drums sampled? The drums are so difficult to recreate (minus the Minimoog percussion).
@AndrewShawMusik4 жыл бұрын
@@aceyage Thank you! It is so nice to hear that. I had no idea there was one on eBay! My unit is a modern recreation by Polaxis. It does everything the original Robovox did, and even more! You can find the Robovox and other amazing speech synthesis gear here - www.polaxis.be/ The kick drum and snare are sampled. I have scoured every drum machine from the era this song was released and found nothing that comes close to it. I imagine that KW had access to a pre-production drum machine or generated it themselves. Everything else you hear in the song is a complete recreation, even the visuals!

Andrew Shaw So thats how you get the voice! I have been trying to find solid info about the sound for years, and thats the gear, that you can use to emulate the sound. Wow

Where can I get kraftwerk drum samples? I've been looking for that particular kick/snare for a while.
@AndrewShawMusik2 жыл бұрын
I got them from the surround sound tracks from the Minimum-Maximum concert DVDs.
