Many thanks for sharing the interview - really interesting. Having accumulated c.100,000 mainly 18th - 19th century British and Irish newspapers, Police Gazettes (London and Dublin) and other printed material, its both fascinating and bulky. But to build collection of a million items Mr Caren must need a warehouse ! Look forward to the follow up - thanks again

A man after my own heart...puts into words perfectly my own feelings about collecting. I'm sure that I have things in my own collection that this man would like to see...😊 Especially related to the Napoleonic Wars, the British Empire, East India Company, Naval History, Early Discovery, 18th Century Trade, Colonial American History, etc

I think it's a million "items," not volumes--so individual manuscript letters, photographs, maybe even autographs or stamps? Not just books.

I admire this man, and am disheartened by what the general population of today considers collectible and worth millions of dollars. Turning points in history vs. popular culture is measured in time I suppose.
