COMPONENTS - Great overall. The insert holds all components well, the tokens are chunky, the map book lays flat, the cards are good quality... no complaints! 0:00 - Introduction 0:41 - Unlockables 1:41 - Enemy activation 2:29 - Scenario variety 3:28 - Crises and events 4:23 - Action cards 5:05 - Final thoughts

Appreciate the playthrough (and select subtitles)! I was struggling on the approved "solo" mode so I tried out playing "two-handed" solo instead and enjoyed the game much more!

Yeah,I’m not going to play the solo variant again. Leads to lopsided games too often

Man, the 4 maps thing really brings this down for me

There are only 4 maps, but (slight spoiler)....... ........ ........ when you open the hidden envelopes, there are additional map components added that allow for a wide variety of 'maps.' (I'm being intentionally vague here)

great review , tempted but the lack of maps puts me off , think i will wait to see how well it does and if it gets some expansions will get it, if it does poorly will still get it as it will have price drop.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how much would you give for the Replayability aspect of the game. Asking because I intend to buy this in order to squeeze as much as I can from it, hoping to not get bored too quickly

Like I said in the video, it’s a mixed bag. Limited maps, but good variety in random placement, scenarios, and characters within those maps. So maybe… 6 out of 10?

Man, only 4(!) maps even through it's just a book like Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion. That's a HUUUUGE miss taking into account how many great atmospheric maps they could have made based on the various locations you see in the TV series.

Yeah, the unlockable stuff definitely adds a lot of variety, but I wish they had included more maps too :(

Thank you very much for the review. I was very interested in this game since me and my wife (well, everybody) enjoyed season 01 of the Mandalorian a lot. After having watched the tutorial video by Rodney Smith, I‘ve had the impression that the action in this game is a bit too mathy/puzzly for my taste (at least for a Star Wars action adventure). The lack of many maps is a real downer - I‘ve expected way more than just four (I guess we‘ll return a lot to Nevarro City here). The action cards themselves look interesting and I do not mind the step-by-step learning of rules (nobody complained when Jaws of the Lion had a similar approach… but on the other hand, this game was perceived a lot as „Gloomhaven - the Tutorial“ 😃). Hm, I guess, this is no immediate buy for me. Not before we‘ve properly played Fateforge at least 😅

It's definitely a mathy/puzzly play, which I personally enjoy, but others might not. PS - Fateforge is FABULOUS. It's shot to near the top of my games for this year.

@@OneStopCoopShop I know. I‘ve played the prototype at Essen in 2022 and the Kickstarter arrived at my door last week 😊 Can’t wait to get started

Thanks for this, so my impression is that the game is fine, but nothing ground breaking :)

I think that is a fair assessment :) Of course that statement applies to probably 98% of board games released these days!

For those type of games, we're not done with Tales of the red dragon inn, I think we'll stick with dragon Inn.

Not sure I'd fully compare the two, but absolutely TftRDI remains one of my favorites

Hmm despite not being a big Disney Star Wars fan this one peaked my interest for solo play. Until I saw how few maps there are. I had hoped for a bit more. A shame.

It still mostly works with the scenario variety, but yeah I wouldn’t say no to more maps
