And the message Mando sent Moff Gideon at the end was almost the exact same one Gideon gave the heroes in the next-to-last episode of season 1.

That was a huge fanservice moment. No matter what anyone thinks about the rest of AOTC, everyone loved the sound of those seismic charges. I'd say I loved nearly every scene with Jango in that movie. Same actor as well, and he KILLS it in this series. He's Maori and said he wanted to showcase his culture's spirit of warrior energy, and you really see it with every hit and every throw. Other people tend to pull back a little once they overpower an enemy, but that's when he drives into it even harder. Very fearsome presence, he makes Boba terrifying.

Hi, Viv! It was the BILL BURR show this week on "The Mandalorian"! Lol. Boba Fett's ready for the ball! He simonized his armor and gave it a fresh coat of paint! By the way, did you know that Hollywood vet and Disney princess Ming-Na Wen, who plays Fennec Shand, is an ageless 57 years old? She was born in Macao in 1963! Mayfeld requires a terminal to locate Gideon's cruiser and the nearest is at a secret Imperial rhydonium refinery on Morak. Rhydonium's destructive potential was amply demonstrated in the D-Squad arc of "Clone Wars"! See The Lady Powerhouse, Cara Dune, singlehandedly pummel two Tank Troopers out of commission! Keeping the volatile rhydonium stable by maintaining a low speed is a film reference to Henri-Georges Clouzot's 1953 "Wages of Fear" in which volatile nitroglycerin is transported by Yves Montand over a treacherous, unpaved mountain road! Mayfeld's monologue about moral relativism and the lack of impact regime change has on those being ruled not only reveals a great deal about Mayfeld's cynical nature but is a film reference to the old timer's monologue in Mike Nichols' 1970 "Catch-22" in which Art Garfunkel is schooled about fascism, democracy and the fall of all empires! Rip-roaring action sequence that reveals three things: plastoid armor is garbage, Din don't need no beskar and the so-called "pirates" were actually guerilla fighters who were destroying the shipments rather than stealing them! That last sobering point means Din slaughtered anti-Imperial rebels for the sake of Grogu. The Imperial rescue that has us rejoice with the Empire is a film reference to Wolfgang Petersen's 1981 "Das Boot" in which you cheer with Jurgen Prochnow's German sub crew, whom you've come to know intimately, every time they score a victory against the Allies! MONUMENTAL MOMENT: Din removes his helmet in public violating Death Watch creed for the sake of Grogu which denotes a major shift in his thinking! BIG QUESTION: Was the terminal just acknowledging a human face with no Republic credentials, does Din have Imperial credentials from his time as a bounty hunter or do Guild credentials grant you access to Imperial databases? The tense scene between Mayfeld and Valin Hess not only revealed the psychopathy of the titular 'Believer' and his upper echelon Imperial ilk but is a film reference to Quentin Tarantino's 2009 "Inglorious Basterds" in which Brit spy Michael Fassbender and Nazi Major August Diehl have a tense stand-off over Scotch in a French tavern. Valin Hess was chillingly played by Richard Brake who was The Night King in "Game of Thrones"! Yikes! 'Operation: Cinder' is from the "Battlefront" video game and canon comics. It was Palpatine's contingency plan to raze Imperial worlds as punishment for failing to defeat the Rebellion in the event of his death. Satellites were placed in orbit over designated worlds which would disrupt weather patterns cataclysmically. Billions of loyal Imperial citizens and troops were sacrificed to Palpatine's capricious vanity which caused many Imperials to defect. Mayfeld's act of defiance by shooting Hess and destroying the rhydonium was a thing of beauty. The ultimate pragmatist found a moral line he could not cross without losing sleep. Boba Fett unleashes a SEISMIC CHARGE last seen used by Jango in "Attack of the Clones"! Love that pregnant pause before the blow! Din sacrifices the tactical advantage of surprise to intimidatingly deliver Gideon's own speech back at him. Supremely satisfying but, perhaps, a strategic misstep? This layered and exciting episode was directed by apparent cinephile Rick Famuyiwa who directed the Mudhorn and prison break episodes last season.

Boba saying “They might recognize my face” means he’s a clone, the Imperials would know.

I can not wait to see your reaction to the finale, the episode was so awesome!
@TheAes863 жыл бұрын
The reason Mayfeld shot him was because he kept to his one rule, "If you can make it thru the day and still sleep at night, you're doing better than most." That was the officer who ordered the deaths of the civilians of the city he served in as well as the troops he served with. If he let him go, especially after finding out he was going to do it even worse with the Rhydonium they just delivered, he would have broken his rule. So Mayfeld's rule created the mess. His rules are easier to live with than a more strict set like the Mandalorian's.

The bombs we see Boba use are called "seismic charges" and were actually first seen in Attack of the Clones by Jango on Obi-Wan, if you recall
@jeffburnham66113 жыл бұрын
I think its more accurate to say Jango used them on the asteroid field surrounding Geonosis, which Obi-Wan would have a more difficult time navigating through with so much debris caused by the exploding rocks, hence the name "Seismic".

Mayfield shot the imperial i.s.b. officer and refered to a military campaign in which he served under him called operation cinder. It was literally the last orders delivered by emporer palpatine where he ordered his loyal troops to bomb the planets that were loyal to him for failing to protect him from death. In essence civilians were punished and killed. Operation cinder meant if the emporer fell the empire didn't deserve to exsist. Mayfield's conscious and possibly ptsd pushed him to kill the officer.

•"The Believer" is more about Mayfield's views on the galaxy. The New Mandalorian way is pacifism, which no Mandalorian who follows the Ancient Code would agree with. It's like when people say Shakespeare is in Old English, when Old English is more similar to German. •Blasters do need to be reloaded. •Operation: Cinder is from the newer Battlefront II campaign. It was part of Emperor Palpatine's Contingency Plan, should he die. The Empire was only ever to be ruled by him, so if he died, the Empire was unworthy to survive him. Operation; Cinder involved using satellites to orbitally bombard randomly selected worlds, even loyal Imperial planets, and drastically alter their weather, causing mass panic and death. The galaxy would be in utter chaos. •That was the seismic charge that Jango Fett used against Obi-Wan Kenobi in Attack of the Clones. •Those were the same words Moff Gideon said to end Chapter 7 last season.
