The TIE Interceptors are telling to me. In legends, not sure about canon, Thrawn was very vocal about replacing the TIE/Ln (standard tie fighter) with modified Interceptors due to their improved fighting capability. Distracting them long enough to bomb the castle was a smart move, but knowing that Bo was the kind of person to pursue the bombers into the teeth of two squadrons of Interceptors takes insight like that of Thrawn from the books.

I don't know if it carried over from the EU but in the EU the colours actually have meanings they signified rank and or clan but also colours represented specific meanings like those who sought justice painted their armor black while for those honored their parents painted it red, green was for duty, those who were known for their reliability painted their armor blue. Or someone who was mourning a loved one and sought justice might paint their armor black and grey. It'd be kinda cool if that was a thing again.

I think the only thing Jay was mentioning was the fact that some of the individual "outfits" (for lack of a better word) don't go together. One really bad example is the orange-helmeted one on the left as Bo and Din enter the cave. Each Mandalorian having wildly different colors is perfectly acceptable, logical, and has lore reasons. Having one person wearing like 7 different colors that don't go well together is a bit harder to justify.

I freaked when we saw the opera house from ROTS. That whole section gave me major Andor vibes. The tie battle and Grogu saying this is the way was awesome! The end was kinda unexpected. Definitely ironic that Bo is finding a new respect for Din’s religion while he’s having doubts. I think from her point of view it made sense to join for now while she figures out how to handle the mithosaur situation. Also her home’s destroyed so why not stay there? But I think she stayed silent because she didn’t want to commit fully. She has her own way of thinking. I wonder why she didn’t tell Din about the mithosaur. If it was just that she wants to tame it unchallenged, I wonder if it’ll cause a rift when Din finds out. But I think it’s more. I think she’s still processing it herself and maybe thinks no one will believe her. She also sees the merrits in traveling with a loyal and capable ally who owes her a life debt.

In regards to the mismatched armor, in the old EU Mandalorians would use armor from fallen family and friends as a tribute to them. Sometimes they would repaint them to match their color scheme but a lot of the time they wouldn't. So that could be a way to explain it. Also the color of the armor meant certain things, like green was justice stuff like that (I don't think that color combo is correct just an example).

This felt like we got 2 episodes at once! The half with Dr. Pen Pershing and Elia Kane was VERY intriguing. I actually did believe at the end that Elia had Pen’s back but then she upped the voltage on that mind flayer and then just stared at him with those scary ass eyes. My theory is that she is trying to break Pen’s faith in the New Republic by making it seem like they are torturing him while she takes advantage of his naïveté. Omid Abtahi and Katy O’Brian definitely stole the show this episode. I hope they more roles out of this. Also Pershing is sadly the most vulnerable and tragic type of scientist, the kind that loves the science and wants to use it for good but gets manipulated into having their research used for evil purposes. As for Din and Bo, now that Bo is essentially homeless and Din has redeemed himself in the eyes of his sect of Mandalorians I’m very interested in seeing where he goes from here. And Bo has now been “redeemed” since she has also bathed in the living waters (which I’m very curious about those waters because that glow was very alarming) and since she is now back with a new clan what’s her next move? Also Fun Facts on Katy O’Brian: she’s a lifelong martial artist who then became a cop, who then became a bodybuilder, who then became an actress. And as she has said on twitter and Instagram (where she posts tons of pics of her crazy toned body and of her wife) she is a massive dork. I think I’m in love 😍.

I thought about this too, there was noticeable resentment building in the Doc because he wasn't allowed to do the science he believed would help people, and with the control he's living under it would become more and more obvious that he, from his perspective, just switched from one overlord to another. Torturing him without him knowing it wasn't their intention is definitely the way to speed that process up.

My theory is that the imperials are harvesting beskar from Mandalore to build more Dark (force sensitive) Troopers. That's why there were so many TIE fighters, so quickly and that's why the planet has rumors of being poisoned, etc., so beings will stay away. He undoubtedly knows who she is. There were so many parallels and contrast to Andor: The gray, Imperial Coruscant in Andor filmed on location to give it even more drab feel and texture The brightly lit, tourist opulent, tourist trap looking Coruscant here, which was very CGI’d Yet the New Republic’s elite sure does seem just as aloof and detached as those at a Mon Mothma dinner party. They don’t even notice the regime change The interrogation device used Dedra on Bix vs the “helpful” device used by the Republic here The alphanumeric designation used by the New republic sire seems as impersonal as a TK number given out by the Empire, or even a CT number given by the Republic

In Star Wars, Mandalorian warriors often paint their armor different colors to reflect their clan, rank, personal accomplishments, or personal preference. However, the colors don't always have a specific meaning. For example, in the classic neo-crusader/death watch style, blue armor is for regular soldiers, red is for field marshals, gold is for rally masters, and silver is for veterans.

Fun fact. The fairground music at the 'funfair' scene, particularly the mountain peak bit, is the "March of the Resistance" theme from the Sequels 😉

You know from Bo-katans view Din Djarin has gotta be the MVP. Because think about it because of Din she has access to everything she needs to become the Mandalore, the darksaber, the location of a living mythosaur, a way to tame said mythosaur via grogu and a group of mandalorians who will follow her without question, if she obtains the darksaber and mythosaur because " this is the way"

Based on the trailer it's time for the Mandalorians to drop in and redeem Nevarro from the Pirates who've taken over since Din left. Then we'll find out Thrawn was behind the TIE Interceptor raid. Cue the Ahsoka crossiver.

It's the same story as in THE BAD BATCH. The Empire (Remnant) wants to control the means of (clone) production. Although now, the Emperor is the mission. They are slowly backfilling the backstory of Emperor Palpatine's return.

If she worked for Gideon and he was obsessed with cloning, perhaps after she got the doctor’s equipment, the next step was to pull the knowledge from the doc’s head. When you were talking about the Mandalorian uniforms, I thought all they likely have now are parts and pieces they can cobble together. There’s probably no mando surplus store.

Great EP with 'The Convert' being Bo, the scientist, and the communicator. Seems the Communicator got what was needed to clone or Remake Palpatine while moving up in the New Republic. She wins in both Empires

I genuinely like the pacing so far of this season. The direction they seem to be going is interesting but also makes sense. And they actually seem to be answering some questions while also building the lore. I'm not much of Star Wars fan but I love The Mandalorian.

I think the 2 stories in the episode kind of relate to each other about the dangers of putting your faith in cults (and trusting the people in the cult). The only problem is whether the Pershing story is foreshadowing Bo-Katan or Din's fate? Will there be a 'betrayer' for the Children of the Watch (Paz? the Armorer?). Or will Din be the opposite of Elia and actually help Bo achieve her goal at the same time negotiating the CotW's prohibitive tenet?

It's amazing how he saw that cubicle the same way Cyrl did in Andor. Showcasing how easily man is drawn to belong to something bigger than themselves in the name of doing good. Also how much the New Republic mirrors the Empire in its methods. Excellent episode.

I love this episode! I think Din's personal arc is just beginning. He might think he's finished a big quest, but something is going to tackle him back to a Plot and I am excited! The slice of Andor-level intrigue got to me too. You mentioned in another video the upper crust of Coruscant reminds you of Panem, and I agree. They ground my gears in a good way.

I think Elia flayed Pershing's mind due to her respect/admiration of her former boss. It was suspected Gideon has his mind flayed and I think Elia was getting revenge. She struck me as a true believer and a sadist who loved/missed her old job.

His damaged ear is the one Cara Dune shot through in season 2. Elia Kane is working her way up to break Gideon out of prison. Sacrificing whomever she needs to accomplish that. Pershing was easy to manipulate.

"That guy" among the Mando's they zoomed in on after Bo-Katan was accepted is Paz Vizsla. Clans Kryze and Vizsla don't have the best history together. Pre Vizsla was at the head of Death Watch (of which Bo-Katan was also a member during the Clone Wars), who opposed the rule of Bo-Katan's pacifist sister, Duchess Satine. Their alliance with Darth Maul directly led to the Duchess' death. He also doesn't support Bo-Katan's claim to Mandalore and the darksaber because she didn't win it in conquest but was given the weapon. It's going to be interesting having these 2 together, because clearly something's brewing.

The reason for the DR. touching his ear over and over is in season 2 a blaster beam whizzed passed his ear as he was held hostage. It’s his past trauma tied to his time in the empire

I mean Imp Warlords throughout the EU usually had a decent compliment of ships. An accomplished Admiral or Moff would have their own fleet. Alliances had their own armadas. Pentastar Alignment, Empire of the Hand, Empire Reborn, and a few more are some examples of this.
