On the Badass of Boba Fett, I agree with Alex. When we first see Fett, he is just a brutal badass. And I think that’s what we wanted more of in his show when it’s the current timeline. The flashbacks, build him up and fill in the gaps for the time he’s gone, but in the current day he should be that guy that people respect by his legacy and reputation. Personally, the only time you should actually hear Boba’s name is in whispers because people are afraid to say it out loud. That’s the kind of respect we are still hoping for
@tomesjt052 жыл бұрын
I think it is coming. I know we all harping on this neutral treaty and his “respect” over “fear” mantra he has demonstrated; but this also seems ripe for sucking us into that fan bashing/disappointment and make his actual “neutralization” of all crime families in the end. Keeping them neutral allows him to be strong and justification for their destruction when they turn on him (which they inevitably will). Anyway that is my hope. He tries to influence, but then realizes he must incinerate instead. And the end of the book isn’t just one dead crime lord (Bibb in the beginning) BUT ALL crime lords but Bobba. Setting up a larger conflict with Hutts and maybe even emerging 1st Order.
@Tlukewow12 жыл бұрын
@@tomesjt05 to take from your assessment I agree. I think “Boba Badass” is coming. The Bacta tank showed him losing his family TWICE now and they made a point to say he was finished with his healing. I know why everyone doesn't like Boba Fett, because you want him to be a mean bad ass. But I think the show is intentionally making him more human, changed and vulnerable. That's why you guys don't like it. If he was exactly like Mando, then there would be no point, if they behave the same. Might as well have been Mando S03 then. Here Boba is not the same guy. He's been thru hell, what he went thru with the Tuskens etc. He's humanized here. Not a mysterious bounty hunter anymore. Whereas Mando is on the top of his game.

No, in some cases people dislike this show because it fails to properly set up and explain Boba Fett's character. After all, why would such a human and vulnerable character - as you claim him to be - be working as a Crime Lord?? I will partially agree with you that the fanboys are partially to blame. It's why the backstory is rushed, why he's a crime Lord, and why the Mandalorian makes a cameo. Disney wants everyone's money and this show is suffering for it.

The armorer is obviously against blood ties, when she says what she has to say about Bo'kataan and her familial bloodline and how she emphasizes the phrase "This is the way." She believes in the culture vs rights by blood. This is further proved by how she agrees to make the armor for Grogu, which could be explained by her beliefs vs rights. And my final explanation for her stance is that she offers Mando the information to redeem himself. The fact that Mando fights a descendant of Tar'Visla and beats him while not wielding the Black Saber proves that no matter of bloodline it's truly just a symbol and that people cant just claim the Dark Saber for themselves thinking that it will make them a leader, blood ties or not.

exactly. I think an issue is that Mando is Favreau/Filoni's baby, while Boba is Lucas's baby from like 40+ years ago. The image of a bounty hunter hopping around the galaxy like a badass lone wolf was implanted in fans' minds in the 80s, realized in the Mandalorian show with organic elements to still keep our hero vulnerable. The premise of "crime lord" in BOBF isn't engaging unless it's about a downward spiral of morale (Godfather, Breaking Bad) which you can't sustain using a character like Boba without radically shifting his politeness.

It felt like they shot this episode as an epilogue to the mandalorian series and just saved it to insert it in boba fett to make some connection. Absolute night and day.

You just nailed it right there! I thought maybe it felt like it could've been episode one of season three, but really it feels like this could've been a standalone short released sometime between season two and _The Book of Boba Fett,_ building hype for the (full) return of both Din and Boba. (Post season two.)

The armorer always asks if he’s removed his helmet every time Mando goes to visit her.

I was incredibly upset at this episode because I kept seeing Mando and it kept getting better and better and better. This is how I should feel when an episode of Boba Fett drops every week, not when an episode that focuses on another character from another blows past every episode before it. 10/10 episode.

I like how Mando (new and original character) has becoming the most popular/best character than Boba himself in less than 2 years

its good that for once the new hero actually is better than the member berries walking corpse studio is trying to abuse. maybe this could encourage studios to create new good heroes and villains that are males, females, poc etc. instead. maybe... on the other hand if we believe the actor boba is intentionally made wrong for reasons we cant fathom.

I hate it. Not because Mando is a badass, they should have simply left Boba dead rather than bring him back only to be outdone by a noob in his own show.

The point of the montage was to give Din something back. He lost his covert, his ship, his son. How did it take up too much time? It was cathartic for him.
